Same Sex Marriage

This is a open shit and this means the day of judgement is so near.

You mean like gay people, that are predisposed to it and through no choice of their own - not a choice anymore than you choosing the acceptable lifestyle, feel being raised by heterosexual parents? If so many of them have bowed to the pressure of living up to the relationship that their parents have, would we be having this discussion?

It, like so many things in life, basically boils down to if you don't want one, don't have one. Worry about your damn self and leave everybody else the hell alone to take care of their own shit. Seems pretty simple...

I know many (well 5) same sex couples, and I would not hesitate at all if any of them were to become parents. I see these people socially and they are a part of my family of friends. In all the cases in am personally familiar with, these gay couples are as loving, caring, and nurturing as any heterosexual couples I know, and a damn site more fun to hang out with than many.

I personally believe that someone raised up to think their sexual preference somehow taints them will go out of their way to allow their child to grow up without any pressure along those lines.

I love it when the anti gay crowd starts with the "abomination" talk, it seems the only book of the bible they read is Leviticus. I would have a hell of a lot re respect if they were protesting at Red Lobster, or at Macys too, but they only remember the gay abomination.

Dammed selective on their abominations if you ask me..

You both quoted me in your posts.

I totally agree with this! That type of lifestyle is a choice in my opinion and people are free to choose. A child raised in that environment may not feel they have such choices and may feel forced to live such a lifestyle although it feels alien and unatural to them.

I do not condone homosexuality or same sex marriage, but I do say live and let live as long as it does not affect me and mine. My stepson is gay and I love him the same as I always have.... even though I don't think it is right.

I am not anti-gay... You can suck all the dicks you want to or lick all the pussies that will let you. Whatever your sexual preferance is... I don't care! But if you choose a lifeststyle in which you can't produce a baby naturally... then you do not deserve one! It is not natural no matter what you are predisposed to. That child should not have to ask whether it wants to play the role as a man or a women because of how it was raised.

Someone please close this thread. It's recipe for disaster.

But male and female roles are created by society. Pink for girls and Blue for boys/Men are drs and Women are nurses are the two biggest examples of this in society.

If a girl wants to be a dr, let her be a dr, if a boy wants to have a pink room let him have it. Your profession or favourite color has nothing to do with what turns you on in bed.

I typically don't like discussing religion or politics with anyone, be it in real life or in a more impersonal way through an internet forum. I think it just gives people the grounds to hate each other because they disagree on an ideological level, without the discourse actually accomplishing anything positive. So this will be the last that I chime in on in regards to this topic.
I encourage others to also stay away from this topic because you'll only alienate people.

That being said...

This is a open shit and this means the day of judgement is so near.

Did it mean that the end was near when the thirteen countries in recent history legalized same-sex marriage before the USA?
When Argentina, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Denmark, France, Iceland, Netherland[SUP][/SUP]s, Norway, Portugal, Spain, South Africa, Sweden legalized it, did God deem the end near?
How about when homosexual sex was considered commonplace and acceptable - even masculine - in ancient Greece and Rome?
How about when Alexander the Great encouraged his army to develop same-sex love to increase the bond among his men? Thousands of gay (perhaps more accurately referred to as largely bisexual) couples under the rule of a man who was also in a same-sex relationship. The world didn't end.

Or is God just an American God? He's been waiting billions of years to identify with the right culture, and then a few hundred years ago America came along and he said "that's the one!" But now that we're on the virge legalizing same-sex marriage he's saying "I'm going to have to end the universe now!"

Believe in God or don't - that's none of my business.

Face the fact that your bias is predicated on bullshit and your life will move on - whether or not gays are legally recognized as married.

So, by that reasoning, the only reason that you prefer whichever you prefer, is the way that you were raised? You really think that sexuality is determined entirely by nurture, with no biological component whatsoever? Which is saying that 'gay' people choose to be gay?

Because a kid is the outcome of a male-female process. Just as I oppose other people from violating your natural rights, I oppose you from violating the kid 's natural rights.

So I guess single parent adoption is as equally out of the question?

I have yet to see any credible research that leads me to believe one's sexual orientation has any correlation with their parenting skills or their child's development. I know a couple of people who were raised by gay parents and they seem to be doing perfectly fine.

Sometimes the male-female process leads to a child being abandoned, or a child being forcibly removed from their biological parents custody, or a child having to flee from their home. That child will have to to grow up on the streets, in group homes, foster homes, etc... Many times throughout this ordeal they will become the victims of abuse, drugs, prostitution, and other things a child should never have to deal with. IMO this is a FAR greater violation of that child's "natural rights" than if they were to be placed in a safe, stable, environment with two loving parents who happen to be of the same gender.
