Hey,
Quick question from my own SEO journey that I haven’t seen a clear answer on — maybe some of you have run into this too.
I’ve got 3 different sites in the same niche, all targeting variations of the same main keyword. Different domains, different content teams, but all hosted on the same server — same IP and everything. Also, all three are verified under the same Google Search Console account.
Now here’s what I’m wondering:
Does Google connect the dots on the backend and treat them like a network?
Could this setup impact their rankings, especially if they’re all competing for the same keywords?
And is there any benefit or risk in interlinking them vs. keeping them completely separate?
I’m asking because lately I’ve noticed some weird ranking patterns. Like one site shoots up, and the others drop — almost like Google’s trying not to show more than one of them on Page 1.
Would love to hear if anyone else has dealt with this or has insight. I’ve been doing SEO for 5+ years and this stuff still surprises me.
