I generally charge on PPK (price per keyword). My company researches the competition, likely hood of ranking in top 3, historical ranking data, and many other factors to come up with the price.

Basically, you need to determine a pricing model that works for your business. Some SEO companies sell *COUGH* Bull$hit *COUGH* package deals, other companies charge based on if they obtain a certain position, some charge based on keywords, volume of keywords, or obtain xx% increase in traffic.

The question is, "What can your company actually do?".

- Do you have the balls to offer a guaranteed ranking position?
- Can you really obtain top position?
- Are you an expert in driving traffic?
- How confident are you of your techniques?

and so on. Depending on your answer to these questions will determine the direction you should go for pricing. At the end he day though, make sure you are happy with your pricing model and make sure it provides the foundation for a long term business.
