I have to say that even if you make lots of money in a Third World country, luxury there is different. I mean no matter how rich you are, you cant get certain brands or even certain lifestyle (cars, clothes, food, ect.) in idk, South America compared to if you live in NY making the same money.

I saw some IRS data recently for where we live at in the lower eastern United States. I can't remember the exact numbers but per person I think it came out somewhere between $2000-$2500 per month. They had it set up by income brackets and the majority of people living here was in that bracket. We live in a rural area and the cost of living is very low. There aren't many jobs here. It seems like most people are living off of the government. These numbers are low for the United States, other areas are different, especially big cities.

It's not because living here is profitable or any other stuff like that, it's because I love my country and wouldn't want to leave this place for a long time, IM can help anyone in any country though.

I guess it dpends a lot on personal profile. I have been living in the Philippines for years. Average income is around 300 US$, but I struggled to get along with less than 6k$. Each and every time I tried to spend less I felt restricted and like in Jail.

To show how bad are things in my country :
<$700 from Homeless to highly under depts
<$1200 Survival
<$1700 Cover Basic Expenses (rent, food, cars fuel / insurances) but with children it is another story (life ok when you are single)
<$2500 Basic Expenses + Children but still hard because of taxes which are starting from this category
<$4000 Stressless life can be good (high taxes)
<$7000 Upper Medium Class (taxes)
>$7000 Way to go to be wealthy
It isn't 100% accurate, but it gives you a good intel. Problem is here that life is more and more expensive (price to pay to be in Europe) while salaries remains the same.
It depends also from where you live (major cities or not) but people in my country tends to prefer to live in the country side to be quiet. Life's quality is way better.
On another end, we are, from my point of view, the laziest people in the whole world. Laws set the legal work time for a week at 35 hours maximum, there are some workaround as additional hours or more holidays but still...
Skill set and qualifications are a major problem too. Yeah we do have great and reputable universities that provide excellent theorical knowledges but when it comes to useful knowledge -> none
When you are out of the university ods are you aren't able to work efficiently and the company would have to teach you the basic knowledges that are actually useful. (several months of wasted pay grade)
So from a company points of view, if you come to france, you'll pay lazy people that would work 35 hours for an equal to less valuable skill set you can find at any others places for way cheaper and prolly better.
Oh and also, due to the social system and its pros and cons, a company who pays a wage earners $1300 (minimal legal salary for a worker), the company will actually pay from $2.6k to $3.5k as back taxes...
We are also good to whine too with a strike right which allow us to not work if we are unhappy with anything.
THis post is of course a bit political and peeps in my country would bash me hard for this, but when you open your eyes and see TJchiller for instance and his country. Life is expensive there too but they know how to work and they work a lot more, i mean A LOT MORE.
To sum up we have great flaws in our culture and most of all a social system which is pricey and we are getting to its limit because of the crisis. This is creating a living hell for wage earners that are under very high productivity pressure to turn a company profitable...
THEREFORE, I'M SOOOO HAPPY TO LIVE AN IM LIFE UNDER MY OWN RULES OUT OF THE TRUE AND HARD REALITY! So yes, i'll work 7 days with up to 15 hours a day but it remains a choice to be productive and be free.

Motivation is everything and i know pretty well what is to live with $500-$600 per month for the entire family(3 members). The education here is cheap ~$2000-$3000 per year including university fees, food and rent, but it is surviving. Almost every family can afford to educate their child.
When i started my education in computer sciences i knew almost nothing, had no additional money to spare, but i was so motivated and i was learning and learning. I skipped irrelevant classes, actually i skipped most of the classes and dedicated my time in learning programming and trying to sell my skills.
My point is that working a day job, might be a good start to get some start up capital, but the goal is to create your own business.
I cannot understand these people that work their crappy day jobs for years and complain how shitty their life is.
If you are making $100k per year, you are smart enough and have valuable skillset - you can use that knowledge to create your own company and earn much more. But if you are making 3k per year, you are motivated enough(or at least you should be) to learn, so later you can create your own business.
It is EASY to have a day job, work by the clock and get your paycheck at the end of the month, so thats why people work for decades at company X and when they lost their job, they have very limited skills to offer and are literally fucked. I know a lot of people that are 20-25 years older than me and are working for the same company for 20+ years.
You have to EVOLVE constantly or otherwise you will become "obsolete" and working a day job, doing the same repetitive tasks over and over and over doesn't fit that.
BTW, i am from Bulgaria(and yes it is one of the shitiest countries in European Union, economic wise).
We are famous with our Gypsies, that steal all over the world. And of course bank/credit/debit scams.
Yesterday, it was announced on the news that some bulgarians have stolen $330K+ from a bank account.
