I am wanting to find out what is the safe number of citations to create monthly for Google Places.
Its understood not to create too many citations at once.
Any Experts out there?
10 a week? 10 a month?
Thanks

BUUUUUUUUMMMPPPPP! I see people looking, but if anybody can give their input this would be great! Please and thanks

hmmm. a safe number? that's news to me. why would google penalize someone for citations, i mean, only the owner is going to post citations. maybe i'm not fully understanding your question.

in any event, i just post to every one i know all in a day, so i don't have to deal with them anymore. i even run sliq submitter for the cr*ppy directories. google will slowly crawl them all over months and months, so i don't worry about it too much. i'm not a pinger. i believe in the power of blasting all my hard work in a day, knowing that it will take months for google to find it all.

of course, i'm no expert.

From what I've read, creating a high number of citations in a short time won't hurt your rankings in Google Places. It's probably a good idea to use high quality proxies when creating thos listings, though, so Google can't tell they were all created from the same computer.
Any d0f0ll0w links that are on those citation pages you might still have to worry about, since traditional SEO rules can affect your Places rank.

Creating many citations at any given time for your Google Places listing typically will not adversely effect your rankings. of course, don;t just go out and get a fiverr gig to blast thousands either.
I research the competition for my clients for categories and then surpass the top 3 in citations.
