Ryan Eagle Bought my FULL name domain - Legal?

I am sure he will have fun reading this thread. He has an account and uses alerts last I checked him out.
There are a lot of complaints but he usually sorts them out.

The name thing is fun too. As others have mentioned it shows he cares, this is good.
If he decides to use the domain maliciously, you sue and take it.

I would not take the blog down. I would make updates to my blog about EWE and BLAM whenever there is contact. Including him buying my full name and showing it. Google likes updates. :) To be fair you should also update when you receive your claim.

Anyways, like I said, normally he solves cases like yours quickly. By judging the net anyways.

Can you not take legal action? Small claims court? Let a judge decide who is right and who is wrong?


In a less serious note... I'd love to hear what Judge Judy would say about these cherades.
 
I think it could be considered domain squatting... like if you registered a startup company name, in the hopes they would want to buy it from you at some point. If he has no legitimate purpose to register your name dot com, he can get into big legal (criminal and civil) trouble.
 
I am not a lawyer, and dont know what country's legislation is in effect, so this is conjecture:

1. Amazon, cocacola, C*L* all sue for domain control if their mark is used within a domain. If it was very recent all you might have to do is complain about use of your name to the registrar or failing that go up the food chain from their

2. If there is that much proof, surely you have enough for authorities to work on a wire fraud or mail fraud investigation. 2 -10 years I think.

On smaller scale, pre-PP, I bought some software on eBay, and was scammed. I wasn't the only one. All five of us (same ebay auction) called in to the postoffice inspectors. Long story short .. they cuffed him as he deposited my money order. Inspector told me after sentencing that he got 4yr on (plea bargain) 22 counts that they could prove. I followed up later and he got out after 29 months on good behavior. I got my money order back.

He told me 3 weeks... And he read all this, as he txted me on skype 3 mins later..
 
Buying a domain sounds legit. But the second he does something wrong that you believe might damage your reputation SUE him. As easy as that: as you might know he's operating in a jurisdiction where certain controversies are resolved in the appropriate places: the courthouse.
 
If he does anything with the domain negatively just sue him for defamation of character.

Contact an attorney and give him the back story. Have the attorney send the registrar a letter explaining that the domain was purchased for malicious use, and they will be included in any lawsuit that arises if Ryan decides he wants to use the domain to try and "harm" you.

I was involved in a similar situation a while back, and that is how I handled it.

As for registering names, unless it's a trademark, I don't think it's a problem.
 
Go to court, ask the jury to long onto their jury bhw accounts, ask them to read all the shitty threads about him.

Seriously, I do not understand how the dude can sleep (if he does).

I think the first and most important thing is accept your failure, then pay the losses, even if it means you have to go back to square 0... A person who doesnt admit/repay his mistakes is a person who has not grown up and will never be able to develop.

All he is doing is enhancing his bad reputation, if he was to pay and lose all his earnings, he would at least be seen as an honest guy and people could be keen on doing biz with him. This way, he is digging his own grave...

Other then that I'm surprised people still do business with this person. Ever since I first heard the name "Ryan Eagle" it was always surrounded by the word "scam".

1. Hire 2 girls
2. Buy tickets for you and the girls and pay him a visit
3. Buy French mustard in the glass
4. Buy 3 hot dogs and fill them with mustard so you and girls can have a lunch when you arrive at the destination.
5. When all the mustard is gone wash the glass.
6. Find him and duct tape him somewhere where noone can find him. If duct tape don't hold him then you're not using enough duct tape
7. Since those girls couldn't poop for a while just tell them to fill up the glass with five gallons of shit.
8. Take all that crap and put it in his mouth (take a Smartphone and make couple of pics)
9. Forget about $2,000 cause after this you will feel like a million dollars

I'm no legal expert of course, but if he posted anything negative on the fullname.com site that is even remotely untrue, wouldn't that be considered libel and something that you could sue for?

And you have every right to post whatever negative info you have on your Blogspot, AS LONG as it's true. So don't remove it just because he's a pussy bitch. No one likes him anyway and will definitely support you.

Lastly, for real...why don't you own your own name's domain? Lol.

EDIT: On a much more serious note, that was really fucking foolish of Ryan. You'd easily win under the UDRP / ACPA just for the fac that he registered the domain in bad faith. Make backups of any communication where he threatened to use the domain against you right now, and put your blog back online. I have experience dealing with domain law with a number of multinational companies (Facebook Inc., FormSpring Inc., eBay Inc., Jagex LTD to name a few) - and trust me, just registering that domain and threatening to defame you can get him in a lot of legal issues. Put your blog back online right away, I'll PM you my Skype information if you want to discuss this any further.
