Hi, I've been modeling on a webcam site and been getting enough interest to get private sessions and make money. They charge $6 a minute and only give you less than a third, so I'm thinking why not make my own website with pics, videos, a webcam chat and charge for it?

I can program so that's not a problem. What I'm wondering about is how much time and money it'd cost to set it up. Anyone done anything like that?

Alternatively, are there any sites that pay you for uploading your "home movies" ;) ?

Also I wasn't sure which subforum to put this in, sorry if it's in the wrong one.

Since there is such a high competition for the Adult Industry - you'd have to market in a few interesting ways. Some ways that I would do it, would be to start a membership website with photos and videos - but then use other free cam sites to market your personal site.

Do a few free shows and tease - get people to go to your personal site and sign up. Offer a 1 Day Trial for $1 with recurring happening the next day for 14.95... or even a $7 day trial for 1.95.

More than likely, the dudes will get off... and have 6 days more on their subscription and they'll forget about your site and how much time they have left and then go into subscription automatically.

If you keep it under $20 per month... most would probably see it, let it slide and keep coming back. Even if they wanted to cancel, 14.95 isn't that much.

Really i don't see how you could get traffic ?
the only way i think it could work is to use the camsite traffic and say you only do private show on your personnal website ,
and maybe social network with hot pics but it will be hard .
you shouldnt leave your cam network because the traffic is there .

And i don't see people montly register for a single girl even if you are the most cute & sexy girl of the web
 
I don't care if you're male or female. I can tell you that the company that only gives you a third of the money charged are doing so because they are basically charging you for traffic. Basically, their business model is that it costs $$$ to have your shop on Main Street.

I've got more years of experience in the adult industry (promoting not acting) then I care to remember.

It's a tight-knit community of adult webmasters with a cut-throat attitude. Really great bunch of people who have to do what they can to survive in an extremely competitive "super niche."

If you are interested in doing this thing for yourself then I can tell you that it can be done but you have to be smart about it. You don't promote nudity or "private shows" you promote yourself.

If you're serious and if you want then PM me and maybe I'll get back into the adult marketing industry or advise you or something.

Depending on my level of involvement I'm going to want to be compensated but we're getting ahead of ourselves here.

If you're for real and you want to earn money and keep most of it then, (I hate saying this) I'm probably the guy you want to talk to.

If you can program your own site,then I suggest getting other people to webcam on the site,and you focus on the SEO/programming aspects of it and make a % of the revenue that they bring in.
 
I'm thinking, if you are going to put all the effort into promoting, setting up a site, etc... etc... let someone else do the "modeling" and you go out and make money instead.
 
if you're going to do your own site.. you've got loads of regs to stick by.. i know because i have done adult webcam sites for past GF's... so much time and work... when its better you really just work for someone like live*asmin.com .... they'll get you the customers and theres not much to do upfront.. apart from prove your age

Babe, any one of the sub-forum is the correct one for this topic. If you are a guy, none of the sub-forum is correct.
