Runing facebook ads with long videos.

So i have some long videos on my facebook page ranges from 15 to 30 mins, and i want to promote them with facebook ads to get more subscribres for my page, i cant really run them into shorts because they are more like tutorial, is good idea to promote those videos this way?
Thank you.

You might consider creating a short teaser or highlight clip that introduces the value of the full tutorial, then use the ad to drive viewers to watch the full version on your page. That way, the ad is doing the job of catching attention and sparking interest, while your longer video delivers the depth and builds trust.

It definitely makes sense that you’d want to get more eyes on the videos you’ve put time and effort into, especially if they’re tutorials meant to provide real value. Running ads directly on longer videos can work, but it’s worth keeping in mind how people usually behave on Facebook. Most users are scrolling quickly, and grabbing their attention for even a few minutes can be a challenge, let alone fifteen or thirty. That doesn’t mean it won’t work, it just means the way you set it up will matter a lot.
good reply. thanks for your experience

Most users scroll quickly it’s rare someone clicks on a 20+ minute video from an ad unless they’re already very interested.

You should not run direct ads for 15-30 minute videos. Strangers will not be patient enough to watch the whole thing, the cost will be high but the effectiveness will be low. You should cut out short 1-3 minute clips to run attractive ads, then redirect them to the full video or page. This is cheaper and easier to attract followers.

From my exp, if the video is too long, people often don’t watch it all, so performance tends to be low. Nowadays, the trend favors shorter, more focused videos that get the main point across quickly

I’m new to running ads so I’m just sharing my experience. 15-30 minute long videos running ads are often difficult to keep viewers until the end, so the results are not really good. You can try cutting out a few short highlights to run to attract viewers, then leading them to the full video, which will be more effective.

oftenly people prefer short videos because they get bored from full videos try to reduce it

you’ll likely see better results if you use them as awareness/engagement ads, not direct subscriber drivers. Most users engage more with shorter clips, so consider cutting highlights or teasers (1–2 mins) and retarget viewers with the full video. That way, you maximize reach while keeping your ad spend efficient.

Consumer psychology will tend to favor short and eye-catching videos. If you use a video that is too long, viewers will usually skim through it for about 5 to 10 seconds. So I recommend that you make the video as short as possible.

exactly, promoting long-form tutorial videos can work if your targeting is right. Use video view or engagement campaigns, and make sure the thumbnail and first few seconds hook the viewer. You can also retarget viewers with follow-up ads to boost page likes or subscriptions. It’s slower than shorts, but valuable if your content is strong

Don't run ads straight on long video, short video is better. You need cut clips from your tutorial, moments with high-value tips or pain- point hooks. Promote your clips. Use that warm audience to push Page Follow ads or promote your Page directly.

Yes, promoting long videos with Facebook ads can work well, especially if they’re valuable, tutorial-style content. To make it more effective:

Use a strong hook in the first few seconds to grab attention.Run the ad as a video views or engagement campaign to build a warm audience.Consider retargeting viewers who watched 25%+ of the video with shorter content or a page like prompt.

For long videos, you can optimize the opening to attract viewers to your video. However, it is recommended to combine it with short teaser formats, or use strong content excerpts to promote more effectively at a lower cost.

If you run ads on a 15-30 minute video, the views will drop quickly bro . People surfing Facebook don't have time to sit and watch it all. If you want to attract subscribers, you should cut the highlights to 1-3 minutes, run ads to attract people to the page, then those who are interested will come over and watch the full video. Running a long video straight will cost a lot of money but the efficiency is not high.

You should put the most interesting or useful part in the first 10 seconds (preferably within 3$). If it is useful, it will keep people watching your entire video.

Long videos can work, but the trick is using a short, attention-grabbing teaser in the ad and then directing folks to the full 15-30 minute tutorial. Otherwise people drop off fast

The challenge

  • People on Facebook rarely sit through a 20+ min video from an ad. Ads work best when they hook quickly and drive a simple action (like clicking, following, or subscribing).
  • Tutorial-style content is valuable, but asking cold audiences to commit 30 minutes right away is a big ask.

Smarter ways to use your tutoria

Promoting 15–30 min tutorials directly with ads might not be the most effective approach, since most people on Facebook have short attention spans. A better strategy could be to create short teaser clips (1–2 mins) or highlight reels from your tutorials and run ads with those. Then, drive interested viewers to your full video or page. This way, you capture attention quickly and still get subscribers who are genuinely interested in the full content

Running long-form videos (15–30 minutes) as Facebook ads isn’t usually the most effective, since ad viewers tend to have shorter attention spans. However, if your content is educational or tutorial-style, you could test promoting shorter highlight clips that lead into the full video.
