[RULES] Posting in Hire A Freelancer

I want to clarify that can we add Our signature like Telegram, Skype, Email with linked our Social platforms? Is it also against to rules?
At this moment it's fine as long as Signature rules are followed.

Keep in mind if people just reach out to you off forum without establishing a connection here on BHW, disputes aren't possible. So that's the risk.

Almost all are leaving their contact details on recent threads , can you clean it ip as i feel left out lol
If you see any user breaking a rule you can use the Report button and it will go directly to the moderation panel.

Meanwhile, the moderators will take action when they see a member infringing any rule. As a suggestion, don't do the same as others, sooner or later you will receive a warning for it.

Ok, so it's only been 2 months since the rule change and we're already forgetting some major parts of the rules:

No contact info in your posts - this goes for both the posting party and responders;

Responders need to detail WHAT they can offer - the following text, if it's the ONLY text, is NOT acceptable:

TextReason Why It's Not an Acceptable Response
"I can do that"If you're responding, the OP probably realizes that you can do the thing. But WHY are you the best freelancer for the job? Why are your skills above the rest?
"DM me"That's not telling the OP why you're the person for the job. You're specifically violating rule 3 for responding to a HAF.
"Interested!"Great, again, why should they choose you?

TL;dr add some substance to your response. Just using a bigger font than everyone else isn't engaging with the OP or telling them why you're better than everyone else. Put some effort into your response.

Put words in your HAF thread - simply putting something in the title and then saying DM me isn't going to cut it. You have rules to follow when posting a HAF thread and ignoring these rules will end up resulting in warnings. Please stop it.

if everyone tells why they are better than every others - what will the OP have to choose ?

If people have their contact details in their signatures when posting in HAF, then it beats the purpose of 'No contact info in your posts' imo.

I have 1 question in HAF section if I know that other member can do that job , can I tag his/her username in the revert.

Thanks

I just need a quick clarification.

If a freelancer doesn’t have a thread that exactly matches what the OP is asking for, can they still reply to the post? For example, let’s say the OP is looking for On-Page SEO, but the freelancer only has a thread about Link Building. They do have experience with On-Page SEO, just haven’t made a thread for it yet — would replying still be okay, or would that be considered spam?

I’m a bit confused about how this works, so I’d really appreciate any clarification. Thanks!

So, last week we published a guide to The Do's and Don't's of Replying to HAF and WTB Threads. Here it is:-

https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/the-dos-and-donts-of-replying-to-haf-and-wtb-threads.1717908/

This is a response to a trend we have seen, and that has been commented on by a number of members, regarding the replying and posting habits of a large number of members in these forums.

Our observation has been that members in these forums have not heeded our words at all on this subject. As such, I'm posting this message as a still polite reminder to members of the ways we would prefer you to post and to not post in these sections.

What we would like is for members to pay attention to the above post / thread and adjust their posting habits accordingly. What we would NOT like to do is to change the rules and start having to hand out warnings to people who continue to use BIG FONT posts and lots and lots of bolding to try and get their message across. Nobody is paying you any added attention when you post like this. They WILL pay attention if you make your services / offers appealing through a thorough explanation of what you bring to the table and your experience.

This will be the last friendly reminder we will be posting on this subject. Thank you!
