Rotating mobile proxies for reddit

Proxy type is less important as opposed to doing due dilligence on your provider and running them against online blacklists etc before logging in.
We personally use residential rotating - on the basis that most of the auto herd use mobile. That's not me taking a swipe at them. Both work. But focus on source & due dilligence regardless. If you're logging into reddit on a newly generated proxy without running fingerprint and blacklist tests; you're doing it wrong.

I see. I also wanted to ask if that thing people are saying that when using a mobile proxy on an anti-detect browser makes you look like you are browsing on mobile. It just doesn't sit right with me, wanted to make sure.

Not sure what you mean here. If you're configuring antidetect correctly you set exactly what OS/platform/device type you're "using"
Example (Don't use this in practice - it's purely an example proving the statement above.
You then check this for consistency on something like pixelscan.net.

Mobile proxies can definitely be used for Reddit work.
You will want the following:
- A combination of a well technically set up proxy / browser (that is without IP leaks and where all OS & user agent profiles match).
- A proxy that will rotate only when wanted.
- A network of high quality IPs.
- A system where you don't leave identical fingerprints on every account.
Hit all of these points and you shouldn't run into any issues!

Proxy is only a part of the Reddit creation process. You have to pay attention to the antidetect and, most important, the warm-up process, too.
But, yeah: +1 for the mobile proxies.

Yeah, rotating mobile proxies can work like a charm on Reddit, if you know what you’re doing. But if your IP keeps flipping too fast - especially when you’re logging in or posting - you’re basically begging for Reddit’s security bots to hit you with captchas or even ban you. The trick is - go for sticky sessions that keep the same IP for around 10-30 minutes during the important stuff. Mobile proxies usually get more trust than datacenter IPs, but don’t get too comfy - Reddit’s always on the lookout for sketchy behavior. And just because you’re on a mobile proxy doesn’t mean Reddit thinks you’re on a phone. Your browser’s gotta look like it’s on a mobile device too.

As with a lot of things, I'd say it depends. Rotations are optional and you really want to do it for specific reasons, excellent for scraping, upvoting, multi-account use, etc. TBH though, residential proxies are what you'd usually go for if you're building a few long-term accounts. For scraping, bulk acc creation, automations, that sort of thing, then go with mobile.

Rotating mobile proxies can work well with Reddit as long as the rotation is handled smartly. Reddit doesn't ban just because the IP changes ,mobile IPs are already shared across thousands of users. What matters more is behavioral consistency. If you switch IPs too frequently without resetting browser fingerprints or session data, you’ll likely get flagged. Best practice is to assign one IP to one account/session, keep it stable for a while, then rotate and clean your setup before reusing.

Are you using multiple accounts for that rotating proxy? Also, when using a rotating proxy, you use a different address every time you log in. Reddit is a strict platform, I think you should use a static residential proxy or a static mobile proxy, that would be better.
