tried that just sends you off to a paid service.. good upsell though
first video yes, but afterwards seems to limit to 7 seconds of any other video

At least two people said it didn't work on xhamster, when I tried it it wanted me to sign up for premium = scam

I just downloaded a random video on xhamster, the plugin downloaded the full video without a problem. it's not a scam, you just don't know how to use the plugin. in the download section there are lots of videos of the same video so you will have to download the highest mb number for example 5mb 10 mb 20mb, download the highest one.
not seeing these settings. just get a down arrow in chrome, when you click on it just one option and I get a 7 second download 9whatever length the video actually is) not saying its a scam just want to understand.

Give a try to yt-dlp it works for lots of adult tube sites, here's the https://github.com/yt-dlp/yt-dlp. Is very easy to download:
C:\path\to\yt-dlp.exe -f all [url_to_video_page]
This command will download the best quality available.
