Rip Off Of My Design?

Did the other user Rip off my design?

As I said earlier in thread, it's quite clear the top portion of the graphic is the same. The background, the gradient, the text, and the style on the text are the same. Even the light colored tear towards the bottom is the same. This looks to me like it was a template that has been modified differently by two different designers. There's not any evidence of reworking, which makes me think this can be downloaded off of Graphixshare or otherwise. This is why ALL of my landers are created from scratch: even if they are "based" on a similar design.

I didn't run and rat to a moderator I politely asked the guy twice to address the issue and he replied and said he would look at it and never did. Also, Im not trying to get them to shut him down I just want him to make his own design instead of jacking mine. If it was a different service I would care as much but my design is almost like a brand and thats how my customers know me, thats why people invest in thread designs, to separate themselves apart from others. But I do respect your opinion, just trying to clarify my side. Thanks mate.
 
In my opinion, he might have stole your ideas but the thread designs are no where near the same.

I usually stay out of these type of discussion but to hear a fellow Bhw member aka @GiorgioB even utter those words is mind blowing. Your Right GiorgioB Remind me when you if you ever decided to create a BST thread i will mimic your thread etc and if you complain about it i will just copy and paste the exact same words you say stop Bitching and Complaining about it. Do you have a patent for it or a license..... It doesnt matter about it being patent or license its still work being stolen.... People take this "free market" severly out of context. Being a free market Means you can offer the same Services at an affordable rate Not copy your competition advertisment design @_@. Maybe am to old, Maybe i dont get it. The things some of you guys say its mind blowing, I really believe some of you guys dont think before your express yourself.. If i remember correctly There are many times even recently Where one Guy Just rip some of a guy BST Thread design and used it as his and he got into an issue with the Mods for the exact same thing...

Copying and pasting your work then just altering text is a rip off.

OP I think that the Mods asked you to get an opinion (as they were not sure imho)

But now your attempt to throw a 'Guy Under The Bus' may well back fire on you as the voting is a very close call...

In your position I would get back to the work you do best which is design...

Why? Because if the rails might come off this thread and it goes pear shaped...

Then no one wins...

Ontopic: I think honestly he's copying off you blatantly and that he should kindly change his graphics but thats just my opinion.

Also OP you should be proud of it as well, you did a good job on that design!

There isnt any throwing under the bus. I asked the guy politely in private to change the parts that he copied. I guarantee if this was anybody else they would feel the same. If any of you guys are bst owners, I guarantee that if someone copied your design you wouldn't be happy and want them to change it.

Well, sorry if you are shocked by my words but i am just giving my opinion. If someone creates something that makes money, people will copy it. Just think about how much Apple spent in R&D for the iPhone and the iPad, and now you can buy a tablet made in China for $60 online... and how about the guy who started selling SAPE links on bhw, after a few weeks, 4-5-6 providers were doing the exact same.. where is the limit to copying someone and freedom to compete..? well, not sure why my opinion is causing such waves, but i don't see the big deal with this whole stuff, yes he copied, yes its naughty, yes you should move on and not get stuck up over it.
 
Well, thanks everybody for voting. It was split pretty evenly down the middle which is surprising but ill respect that.
 
There are a lot of similarities indeed. Don't get me wrong but I just don't get it why he would give so much effort to copy your design.

Even the font of the title (Lobster 1.4 ;)) is same as yours. If this isn't from some older template then he obviously is copying you (at least parts of your design).

You are complaining because you both use a black/grey texture background.

Then you start a thread asking for OPINIONS then tell people their opinions are wrong.

Mate, cry me a river.

If you think your work is better then why does this bother you? Let him copy, you are just wasting your time.
