RIP Google. Make way for the new King.

Bing will never gain enough traction to be relevant enough.

If anything I think its much more likely that another new search engine would gain traction before people would shift back over to Bing.

Google's obviously trying to make up for negative PR about their search results by rolling out all of these algorithm updates. Just look at the names of them "Web Spam update", "Over Optimization", etc... This just gives Google ammunition when newspapers like NY Times, or Wired magazines do stories about how shitty their search results are and how they are filled with garbage. Now they can fire back with how they rolled out all these new algorithm updates to combat them. Chances are we'll see some serious changes in the very near future that will essentially roll back these new algorithm updates.

If anything, people need to point out the FLAWS in Google's new updates, drawing more PR to how they've done nothing but screwed things up further.

Actually I think Bing and Yahoo arent that bad. My Websites always rank btween #1 and 5 in Yahoo and Bing and yes I am getting less traffic from them than I get from Google but I always do the keyword research with the Google Keyword Tool...

So I never got the chance to see what people are searching for in Bing and Yahoo. I guess it would be much easer to rank for niches in Yahoo and Bing instead of Google. Does anybody know if they have a similar tool like the Google Adwords Tool now? I mean in which you can see how many monthly searches are done.
 
one of my niche sites old stats:

70.000 visitors per month from google
2.000 visitors per month from yahoo
500 visitors per month from bing

and that site had very good rankings for google, yahoo and bing.
 
Google is king...they have been and will continue to be...

If you depend on search engine ranking to make your living, then you are not diversifying your online money making methods enough. You may benefit from trying out other strategies for making money online. I market to niches and make a killing with e-mail capture. When I need money, I simply go to one of my lists. No traffic, no ranking, no headaches. How did I get these lists? Hard work, interaction with members of other forums, etc. There are so many other methods that can be used to generate money and aren't dependent on traffic and rankings - Google them (or Bing if you prefer).

Once all these changes to Big G's algorithm get finished, the dust will settle and you will make it to the top again. In the meantime, have patience, adjust your strategies if necessary, and test mew methods. Change is good and a shake up like this has been looming for a long time...those sites with low quality or poor content will eventually becomes de-valued and drop off allowing the top positions in the SERP's to be up for grabs. Keep building quality backlinks and you'll be in good standing.
 
it seems that everyone ranking sites for google and make a living off of that is risking everything. especially does who have many mns sites using adsense. You're at the mercy of google.
 
Yes, it does suck that all are strategies and hard work might be useless or counter-productive after a set amount of time. But this is the reality of our business. Where did cloaking and G bombing come from? People manipulating the system, and then the system trying to defend itself. G is a business, and it's in their best interest to make IM's suffer so we would have no choice but to use adwords. Which will sky rocket the bidding price. Which will then make G more money.

It's in our best interest to keep with the game because that is our business; it's just too expensive to pay for adwords for this kind of traffic. No matter what algo change they roll out with, their will always be sites showing at the top. Just study who is linking to them, how they are optimizing their page, how frequently they update their site, etc... No matter what algo comes out, their is a pattern that leads to the top. In order for us to make money, we have to keep up with that pattern or not make money and complain about it.

There's a really good book illustrating this, a very simple read: Who moved my cheese?

The cheese is there, it's just moving at a crazy pace now; but's it's still there so keep looking.
 
i don't understand why people are keep saying on many boards after this major change "its time to move on bing" what does it mean? google and bing seo is different? if yes then whats the difference?

It's not about black hat or anything like that. It's about quality. Google employees make their SE worse and worse each day to make webmasters buying adwords credits. While bing doesn't. Bing serps are far better than Google's now.
 
How many non internet marketers mentioned to you in the past month that they have noticed that Google's search results lately have been bad. ZERO. Only we care not dufus regular people.
 
how you react to a downgrade determines your success.....i you give up on your site and drop it then google wins... if you continue as usual, build links, etc....then google will pick you back up again and you win.

and if you think bing is the new king then you're delusional....

But this shitty algo has been rolled out yesterday mate. Trust me, little viral push from our side and people will def start seeing that search quality is worse than ever.
 
I just still think people won't care at all, no matter how bad the search results are. If we're lucky we'll get some small news story to cover it, maybe an article in a magazine. In the end, every non-IMer won't give a shit at all. Just my opinion.

I know most of you think this is dumb, but don't fucking use adsense. I think I'm the only one who refuses to use adsense. Stop making deals with the devil.

It's a grind, lol. I use adsense :-P, but like anything else ya just gotta diversify. If G is sucking the life out of you... gotta have a backdoor ;).
 
A lot of whining...

Follow the bloody G guidelines, work hard and you'll get results - simple as that.

As a Google user, it feels nice to get more and more crap out of the search results.

EDIT: Google will outsmart you all in the long run so why not just play by the book, do some GH tweaking here and there (once you know how to do it without getting caught) and then enjoy the sweet fruits of profit.
 
You should look at FB for traffic needs...lots of good BH areas to get in with getting good traff from their platform ;)
