Review Copy Rules Clarification

Man I was a BHW MIT and still unable to understand some things. I think i am retarded.

There is a rule in our review copy/beta tester section that we aren't allowed to collect outside contact info.

I sent a PM to Z to clarify this rule but got an automated reply saying he is injured and taking a rest. Get well soon Z.

So here we go.

Almost all the tools here in the marketplace (who have offered review copies in the past) uses email address to register an account. (Spamzilla, Deleted member 752298 etc)

And 99.999% of the tools online requires you to use an email address to signup.

Are we on the same page?

Now if i want to give out a review copy and I ask users to use a temporary email/disposable email to register an account.

Am i still breaking rules?

Funny thing, threads in that section goes public only after approval of a mod. And after receiving 20+ replies one of my thread in that section got deleted.

I am not questioning decisions made by mods. Just trying to understand our rules a bit more.

I am not a native English speaker. So i may be missing out on the subtle things.

Help me understand this please.

You can ask Joe BHW Member to use a temp email and some may use a real one.

There is no way for us to tell so we do not allow any outside contact info to be collected nor collected or shared via PM.

It is a tad tight but if we allow outside contact info to be collected in a non BST subforum that is not fair to the guys that pay that are allowed to collect outside contact info for their products or services.

Guys use that as a loophole more often than is reasonable to build a list (not saying you are but that is what goes on all the time).

That is the reason we have to nail that down. I know it is a pain for some guys to create a beta testing thread, and have worked with many over the years to help them figure a work around, but that creates a level playing field for all.

Quick workaround for you before I close it.

Beta Review Thread for those to test:

"{PM me|post below} and I'll give you an account and the account will be in the format of {testor1| testor2|testor3} @Deleted member 923340.com."

You can create those accounts in seconds and nobody is in the weeds building a list or violating that rule.

Edit: I'm so tempted to buy Deleted member 923340.com... so tempted!

I owned that domain from 2014 - 2018 if i recall correctly.

I got your suggestion. I'll figure out a way and reopen the thread.
