Retweets tactics?

I was just wondering. Do the retweet-only account growing tactics are real? I've red somewhere that people sometimes grow their twitter accounts by just retweeting specific (niche relevant) stuff and that's it. Maybe some written posts/gifs/images/videos, but majority and main focus is on retweets.

You should keep it simple. Copy your competitors that are having success. Yes you could retweet however you do not want to get banned like a lot of people. Build a following by being helpful to your followers. Give your followers free products. Once you gain your leads trust you can promote products
