Hey guys! :)
This is a popular way for making money all over the world so I have no problem to speak about it loudly. In most well developed countries there are websites where you can order pizza or any other dishes and pay for it via credit card. In my country there is one big company (let's translate it to delicious.com) but it's focused on big cities only. In my small 30k city there are like ~20 restaurants where you still need to order via phone call. So I'm wondering about creating something simmilar to delicious.com but only for my city - later for other small cities in short range. There is one problem that I wasn't ever been able to resolve or understand. Do I really need to buy a POS station, with Internet connection ability for each restaurant? POS station prints an order receipe in the restaurant and the cook starts to do his job. I was searching for this kind of devieces but It's minimum like $200. Maybe some of you were trying to make a simmilar project and found a better idea? I'm wondering is it possible to simmply design a smarthpone app where orders will pop-up? Or.. give them (/let them buy) a standard printer?
So the main idea is a WP store with eg. ~20 restaurants menus, payments gateway, each restaurant have a device where orders are showing up, and I can charge the owners like.. I don't know 3% of restaurant monthly income from my website? Do you think it's possible or you just read te worst idea ever?
Cheers.

Idea is good, but you need $$$ for marketing. The best solution for this will be an app for both iOS and Android, that will use push notifications. When a order is placed, the restaurant will receive it and process it.

I wouldn't say it's the worse idea, I can see where you're going with this, but POS stations would be a great for easily processing orders much more quickly but they are really expensive sometimes, so I would suggest just noting orders down on a notepad like the old fashion way and earn some money those few little orders till you're able to afford POS station.

Are you talking about similar to ubereats, doordash and stuff?

I doubt you must buy a POS for every restaurant ( there will be a dozen of POSs for each delivery guy ). I am from Bucharest and here we have a lot of restaurants. When I buy from X, through a delivery company, I pay for the POS of the delivery company, not for the one of the restaurant from where I ordered ( X ). That's said, you need only 1 POS for your delivery guy. The idea of the app is good ( maybe something like this one: gloriafood[DOT]com / wordpress-restaurant-plugin ). You can use even a tablet with this kind of app and send the invoice over the internet.

Cheers!

This is not the worst idea ! u can do it , u can also add a % fee when the seller pay with his or her credit card. An idea is going to just stay an idea but most important thing u should take action on it.
Best of luck :)

That's why I would start in my small city. Many things can be promoted by social media fanpages and groups, and this idea will promote itself. I can handle costs like the plugins in your link - thanks for that I will definitely check it!

So are you saying that customer comes to my site, order and pay, and I should do what... call the restaurant with "Get this man a pizza now coz he payed me!" ? This is not a sollution, Im looking for most automated way for this. Customer orders pizza on my site, paying for it -> info about order transfer to restaurant -> they bake pizza and deliver it stright to customer. Transfering an order is something that I was wondering how to do it.

Each company have their own drivers etc. I would be only a "provider" of credit card payments, and keeping all city restaurants and their menus in one good loking site. Some of restaurants here have a 10 years old html page.

That's a two different companies ideas i think. In my city there is no such think like a ubereats or sth. Each restaurant have their own drivers. So yeah I should buy 20 POSs for 20 restaurant's but it's the restaurant idea should the POS stay all time in the restaurant or should driver take POS with him. I don't know exactly which is better. The plugin is good but It would work for one restaurant, when I would be creating website for one restaurant and only for them. We are talking about one wordpress site with 20 vendors and 20 POSs. Maybe plugin posted by TomTheCat have this option, I must check it.

P.S. sorry guys for my language :poop: and thanks for all suuport and helpful ideas!

What is a POS station essentially? Think about it.

It's basically a computer.

If I were to do this:

- WP store for frontend.

- Multi-Site Plugin to add each restaurant.

- Remove all the technical settings in the backend of each multi-site instance and just keep it really simple that even the dumbest employee logging into the restaurant backend wont break it

- Push notifcations or alarm on computer when new order comes in

- Implement an order system via woocommerce

I think you have a good idea and should go for it. Just buy cheap computers just powerful enough to run Google Chrome (meaning any)

That already exists, it's called Lightspeed, it's the Shopify for restaurants.

Like many marketers, you are concentrating on TECHNOLOGY

You should concentrating on SOLUTIONS

You need a VPS or dedicated server

One restaurant needs one domain

Install domain. Install Wordpress. Install WooCommerce. Install your payment processor that they own. You don't touch their money. You track the orders and take 1.5% OR you rent the site to them for $100 a month with a $250 setup fee. They is $1500 for the first year. It must be cheap enough that they won't want to replace you. And when you show it to the other restaurants, won' they want it too?

Get one of the restaurant themes at GPL.Coffee

Install the restaurant menu. Copy every testimonial you can find regarding the restaurant. Look at what is inside the food they sell. Create articles about the ingredients. Create articles about the city. What is going on, etc.

Show it to them WITH THEIR MENU

How can they say no?

Sincerely,

The Eye
