Hello again BHW,

I recently posted in the Moz Q&A Forum asking how many backlinks to include in a guest blog within a PBN. The response was unexpected and I wanted to get the BHW communities opinion. I am now worried about using the PBN in which I have access too...

Here is the link: https://moz.com/community/q/how-many-backlinks-should-i-incluede-in-guest-blog

The worrying reply:

"You're playing a really dangerous game here. The google algorithm maps the blogs to find correlations between who's posting on them and an unnatural link profile. PBNs are in direct breach of the rules so you may get a great result but you also might get a penalty and be wiped out.

So it's up to you. Sometimes this sort of thing works but you're playing Russian roulette with your revenue stream. How much revenue are you making from google? Is it your only channel? Can you afford to lost the entire channel for - say for example - two months while you try to undo the manual action for webspam?

I've seen the sophistication of the PBN products google uses first hand and it's not something I would want to mess with. but if you are wanting to make a quick buck and aren't worried about the long term viability of Google as a channel then go for it. But be aware that over-optimising anchor text is the sort of thing that will get google looking more closely at your site and then with the fact that the PBN has signals that show it's a PBN and then you'll wish you'd not ever tried to cheat.

This is effectively cheating. It's black hat. So proceed at your own risk. Maybe you need to go over and ask the folks on some other forums where they are more into this type of stuff. They will know how to get the best short term gains from things like PBNs."

What are your thoughts and what would your advice be moving forward with a PBN and money site?

My thoughts are, that you need to take that quote above, and pretend like this is the guy who was saying it to you:

Because it is... that's the guy.

A lawyer who is now a digital marketer for a dentist office.

Feel better now?

pahahahahaha okay.. but any tips going forward with my PBN and the money site?

What were you expecting from MOZ? They think the only way is to rank is do some On-page, do some outreach and lick Google's asshole every night while sacrificing their children to Search Engine Gods

This forum isn't called Black Hat World just because it rolls of the tongue. PBNS are a way of gaming search engines to iprove rankings.

The angels of Moz don't agree with black hat methods.

I have used PBN since 2009, and they have worked since, and worked before. I know they worked before from following leading sites in some niches, that used them. PBN is just a more advanced method for self-linking, which may have existed since 2000?

But as you said google is quite smart about it (in fact getting smarter ), so cover your tracks, avoid so-called footprints, of course to do not over-optimize anchors. In general use PBN with other link methods to dilute them in your risk profile. Ideally you want to use a PBN that does not look like a PBN (especially that does not look like spam). And use patience.

I do not remember a recent big crack down on PBN, but they regularly crack down, removing the most obvious culprits each time.

Hello biggest white hat community on the Internet, could you please show me how to use PBN?

Man what are you doing? Asking MOZ about PBNs? cmonBruh.

My thoughts are that you should give me access to your blogs, while you think about it.
;)

PBN's are obviously somewhat greyhat, you're not going to get a WH site like MOZ to endorse it. It clearly works though, just focus on the results.

If you build a network like 95% of the mindless fools here their advice is accurate.

In the UK they had something called operation raptor or something, where they were aggressively cleaning the streets from drug offenders.

They put out a tweet, “poisoned meth batch. Come down to police station to have it tested it safe”

Caught a bunch of idiots who walked in openly with meth.

Maybe ask “think with google” if your PBN is going to be effective

Come on MOZ is total BS, while many use their metrics for in depth analysis of links NOBODY uses their index as it sucks. Well guess what, all else sucks too. Duh, all link building is not Google wants you to do but who cares. You want to make money I assume?

Nothing to worry about. He say the right thing but we all free to choose which way to go
