Request Indexing or not?

Firstly I m new to SEO so sorry for noobish questions.

Sitemaps are updated in search console. Saw a video some days ago that after inspecting an URL, we have to click on Request Indexing even if it shows "Submitted and Indexed" in Coverage?

But why would we request indexing if the coverage shows URL was auto indexed?

be careful if you make this request more than once or twice in a week or so, your ranking will go down. it is like google has implemented an anti-seo algorithm and this is part of it.

this is just based on my own observation on my own test sites.

personally, I no longer use this and just allow google to reindex my site naturally.

No mate that is not what I asked.

I wanted to know when the "Coverage" says "Submitted and Indexed" do we still request for indexing or is it already indexed as the "Coverage" says?
 
If you make any changes on your site and want to reindex the freshly updated version of your site on google then you can request indexing again that's the only reason the option is available even after the site is indexed in google. But as per the new Google update if you keep repeating the request indexing option then your site ranking will go down. I don't know which update is this but heard this from many users.

No, you don't need to request indexing it again. Search Console will also show the date of 'last crawl'. If you have changed the content after this date, then you can request indexing again for updating the fresh content.

However it is always recommended to let the Google index it as per its scheduled time. Only request indexing if there was a mistake or the new content has significant improvements over the old one.

dont request for indexing again....

if your sitemap is working, then you should not touch the reindexing option anymore

No changes were to the article post. So I guess I do not have to request indexing again as the coverage says Submitted and Indexed.
 
Dont request index. It will decrease your SEO ranking
 
If you are using a web hosting service (Squarespace, Wix, etc.), it is likely that the sitemap is generated for you automatically. In this case, you do not need to create it manually, or resort to using the report in question. Look for information about sitemaps in your hosting provider's reference materials.
