Just a quick question:

how would you go about knocking down a ripoffalert off trhe front page???

A. would u build web 20 sites and blast these with scrapebox
or
B. would you blast the competion with scrapebox, hoping that their rankings improve and knock down rippoffalert complkiant?

Thanks in advance

I would stop "rippoffing" people.

That's the best way!

I am not the one posting bad reports about people...lol

I have a client with a bad report on his company and he actually inquired with us to see what we can do, if anything.

Of course I am looking into which way would best work....

any ideas?

There are a couple of ways to look at this:

1. Did the company rip off people?

2. If they did, what's to stop them from ripping me off when
I give them some help?

My 2 cents worth.

Only 2 ways exist:
1st way:
Respond to the report (if they have comments section, etc.)

2nd way:
Create 20 we2.0 sites and blast away, take all the top 20 positions...

DO NOT respond to the report. Ever.

Just blast away with web 2.0 properties and backlink the web 2.0 properties with other web 2.0 properties and article directories. Also write some good articles using the keywords he is showing up for in ezine and backlink them when they get published.

Exactly... that is exactly how ripoffreport works.

yes.

the more you respond/comment on those alerts, the more content you put up, thus increase in rankings

my 2 cents

Have to agree with the rest, secure page 1 and knock the others out. You can also use the ripoff alert to your advantage by using the ripoff keywords and spin it to a positive report like Top Level Position did (just what the hell do they sell besides a Ponzi scheme?). Something like "Is CUSTOMER NAME a ripoff or just a great opportunity?" A little edgy but anything that gets you noticed today is worth something.

Ripoff report is funny.

From the droid >> hxxp://saltydroid.info/ripoff-report-report/

worth a read.

I wouldnt respond because you are adding content and refreshing it. Now, I happen to know an attorney who is currently going after them and according to him they have been caught "re-aging" complaints which is a big no-no.

Before they were nearly untouchable under the premise that they werent responsible for the content people put on the site. But since they took part in the complaints by re-aging them, they are now responsible. Rumor has it you're going to see some big changes at ripoffreport

Just what I heard

Addressing the issue:

If you backlink to the ones ranking first and you need to outrank them later, then you'd just be making your job harder later.

Web 2.0 will be your best shot since you can just put redirect and get some traffic from them and sell that as well :D

Rumor also has it that the owner of rip off report ALSO owns a reputation management company with partners. Ruin a companies image, then build it back up.

I have talked to small and large businesses that were put through the ringer with ripoff report and were all approached by the same company to repair their rep.

I've worked with a client who dealt with this site. They contacted them directly and were basically told it would cost them around 15,000 to get rid of the complaint.

The way it was addressed was to absolutely flood the keywords with web 2.0, articles, press releases, Google Place listings, videos, etc.

For a good example of what can be done, just go do a search for "Coldstone ice cream." They absolutely OWN the first 5-6 pages.

Good Luck,

Chuck

Yeah, he is a low life extortionist. Have clients he has messed with as well. His mug shots are on another site...

Your'e right, that should be a study into itself...

Whats the going rate for 40 web 2.0 properties and good backlinks?

i know you can report links to google. you might want to look into hiring a lawyer for slander (assuming your client didn't do anything wrong).

as others said, you can try ranking for your clients keyword using web 2.0 profiles.

i would also do some stuff like press releases to keep positive fresh news about your client up in google. you can also make a bunch of sites like "your clients company scam" where you can create a conversation like so:

fake person 1: hey i ordered an item and today is the day i'm supposed to receive it. its night time and i havent received it yet. did i get scammed?
fake person 2: no it is probaby just slow shipping. i love "clients company"! I ALWAYS get speedy service with them and have recommended them to all my friends
fake person 3: i've always had a good experience with this company. top quality!
fake person 1 again: its the next day and i received it! i looked at my receipt online and realized it was scheduled to come today. my mistake! i love my product!!!

now i dont know what your client sells but you could do something like the above (even on your scam reports page) to turn a negative into a positive. be creative i guess :)

I have just decided to go teh following route:

buy 50 aged domains
put up wordpress
upload a free theme

put up some content ( spinned)
I will be blasting these domains with bookmarks and scrapebox

lets see
