Reports: Gaddafi captured and killed in Sirte

Gaddafi is NOT DEAD!!

Do not buy into the hype!!

It is all about the "divine right of kings"

Gaddafi has been in power since 1969.
You don't think he knows how the game is played?

Very few of these head of state including Saddam are actually killed.
They are usually sent off the some other remote location and really
enjoy the billions that they have stashed away.

Gotta love a good conspiracy :p

now the turn of usa and fr/uk to come to steal oil and futrunes of lybia just like they did in iraq and afganistan also will put politicians who will serve them the best and will keep islamists away like they did always

you are right 100% maby gadafi it was no a prefect leader but at last hi was a leader thay kill him like a rat i think libia will be same as iraq iraq was beter whan saddam was a leader

@zebrahat

Don't forget he tried to trade oil in Euros when OPEC only trades in USD. That would mean the destabilization of the dollar. Not a wise move. Immediately after that, he became the international villain.

spot on, running a country and threatening to trade oil in anything but USD is a death sentence these days.

I dont think this is the end of Libya's woes, there's mountains of weapons available so if we do see a further civil war or active insurgency then it will be a lot better armed than that in Iraq. The transitional council likely includes members of organisations that are being hunted by drones in afghanistan and iraq...and they've got all that lovely oil so the west won't leave them alone to sort it out.

Their hard won freedom won't last long.

Theres 20,000 anti aircraft missiles that are missing, imagine the problems if the cartels in Mexico got their hand on a few dozen of them.

and you people do not belive every think you see on tv no one is prefect.
whan usa presedent gives order to kill no problem he becomes a patriot but whan gadafi do the same he becomes bad man or terorist.

The majority of those rulling for decades without elections end up murdered. Which is to be expected because the only way to remain in power in this fashion is by brutal supression. Nothing new really. Still, people keep acting surprised / embittered when it inevitably happens.

I am sure when the eventual North Korean leader gets murdered there will be people saying the literacy in the country is 99,9% (amongst the survivors of the regime that is).

like the usa has the ballz to do anything to North Korea lawl.... why they dont end the regimes in Barain and Saudi Arabia ? ..

I love how someone can defend a cold-blooded tyrant who's men raped, killed, and stole from his own people, committed crimes against humanity, and killed anyone who dared to say a word against him. I would rather be a peon to a capitalist banker than a government tyrant any-day. I don't like the banker, I don't give him my money or buy the products he invests in, I don't like a tyrant and he kills me...what good is a human dev. index or high wages when I can't spend my money how I want and my leader forces me to eat grass when I misbehave.

Tonight's T.V. news coverage shows the people of Libya celebrating in the streets. They seem extremely happy to be free to govern themselves and make their own choices.

Not all people in all countries know what freedom feels like. The rest of us take this liberty for granted and don't know how lucky we are.

Despite i have to agree about people who remain in power by brutal suppression would end up in tragic ending, but we have to admit without the west involvement, gaddafi would still be there and nobody in Libya would dare to challenge him at all. The rebellion happened because the US and EU supported it.

North Korea (and also Iran) are totally different from Libya. Kim Jong Il wont hesitate to launch his nuclear to south korea or even US when he gets pushed to the corner, hence why you see the US and EU never had enough balls to do anything against them, even when there was a small border friction between north and south korea. What they do instead was to push china to play their role since china is the main ally of north korea.

Gaddafi was an eccentric man but that alone sadly isnt enough...Kim Jong Il has the weapon and nobody would have enough courage to put too much pressure on him unless all his nuclear weapons have been sabotaged. A civil rebelion alone is never enough.

Are you talking about Gadahfi or Obama ???

Who has an angle on using this story to drive traffic to your money site?

Libyas real challenge is going to be in the next several years. If you look at most revolutions throughout history many have a bloody period afterwards. The French went crazy with executing people afterwards,as well as the Soviets. They are going to have to think will Logic and not emotion if they want Libya to become a much better country.

What happened to his Amazonian Virgin All Female Bodyguards...?!:o:p:(

Cheerios

3 of my friends have actually seen his body :) so ye confirmation there you go :P

Now I hope I can go back to Libya :)

Well you can try selling stuff about him, maybe t-shirts like what happened with Osama Bin Laden (LOTS of profit has been made there!!!)

Those guys who took his golden weapons, golden stuff, etc, can sell it on eBay and be rich :) lucky

I am sure Libya will advance really rapidly, Libya has HUGE potential (personal experience) and there will be foreign countries helping it (of course they will make a lot out of it), so ye the current plan for the foreign countries is to get back to Libya back to normal ASAP , so they can buy their fuel again.. and send companies back to build the NEW and FREE Libya.

I know it might be stupid for some people, but I'm actually really happy that Gadafi is gone, he did so much trouble to Libya, he is an embarrassment to Libya , can't wait to go baaaaaack!

Say what you will about Moammar... I just want to know why he didn't set up his own line of designer sunglassses...

Those windshields he was sporting were almost guaranteed to give him the pick of the litter of his Amazonian bodyguards.

They found thousands of different sunglasses, he loved sunglasses ;)

I really hope Libya will come a better place.
But look at Iraq, it got worse after Saddam died.
While Iraq is a rich country which gets help from other countries.
Libya maybe different, but don't hate Gaddafi. He was maybe weird and a bit cruel but thanks to him Libya is one of the richest countries in Africa. He was economical genius, he invested in somethings which brought massive wealth to Libya.
