Is it part of your SEO strategy? It is part of mine. Having someone who rank better than you get a penalty is just as good as bumping your own ranking.

I have reported a few competitors to Google. In many niches, most of the results are websites that have been pushed with blackhat techniques: comment spam, link farms, etc... it seems like everyone is doing it now. It's common practice and it's against Google's guidelines.

However, I've never seen any of my competitors get a penalty, get de-indexed, etc... I've waited a few weeks, and even a few months ... nothing. The results pages are pretty much the same, with the occasional new player showing up on the first page.

Did any of you had any luck getting a competitor de-indexed and penalized for going against Google's webmaster guidelines?

Is it just a waste of time to report a website? :(

So you visit and post on a blackhat forum then report blackhat activities?

beyond ironic

Thats what I would call a great "thinking outside the box" :D

I think he's discussing reporting as a BH Method. Alot of so-called "white hat" sites have some dirt on them.

Me, I'm personally not a fan of the method.

It's stupid and it doesn't work. Imagine how many false complaints they get a day. Do you REALLY think they follow up on them all? It would take thousands upon thousands of man-hours. Grow a pair and outrank your competitors by beating them, not by reporting them like some whiny little girl.

Do i do this? NO, that's just too low. People have worked hard on getting that place and if you want to be first, work for it so you can deserve it.

damn report them all for the money :mmm: if they beat u to it they beat u haha maybe not

Man... this is insane.. Robbing someone to fill your wallet....There are many guys out there who rely on their IM income to feed their families.....

I was gonna be quiet but... HAHAHA YOU FUCKING DOUCHE. Imagine all the time you wasted when you could have applied those weak skills of yours and "possibly" been able to beat them. So in closing...You suck. Your skills suck. Your site sucks.

I used to own a nice blogger and was reported by an ass like you, because i copied his article ,google just deleted the whole blogger!!!

Did you guys even read what I wrote? I'd never report someone who worked hard and honestly at getting his website ranked. Someone who took the time to write good content, promote it by following the webmaster guidelines is honorable. And I'd have no reason to report such a site.

However, spammers, scammers, I have no mercy for. It's a war out there.

It's funny how you call this "too low", "robbing", etc... We're talking about blackhat. There's so much hypocrisy in this thread. So spamming a poor guy's blog is fine? Filling a forum with poor content just to get your link is nice? But reporting a cheater is "low"?

We are all robbing someone else by outranking them by going the blackhat way. Don't be a hypocrite. You're all cheaters.

I used to own a nice blogger and was reported by an a** like you, because i copied his article ,google just deleted the whole blogger!!!

Are you really whining about your COPIED content that got deleted? Are you for real?

I cant believe what I read here. You sai that you hated blackhat techniques, then why you even being here bro? LOL

Number one, Google is smarter than that. Do you think they're just going to take your word for it?
Number two, the time you spend reporting your competitors could be spent MAKING SOME F*****G MONEY!

Today funniest post in BHW. LOL!! :D
If your competitor doesn't use onpage blackhat techniques such as hidden text, css tricks etc. It's hard to be banned from GG.
