On many discussions, including some of my own i've seen people reply just to reply. From their reply you can see that they haven't even read through the whole post.

Why is BHW admin team not taking any action against this, it becomes really old after some time to scroll through dead replies that don't contribute anything to the conversation.

While it might be a pain for the admin team to determine which replies under this category, why not give the community a way to punish such replies? A simple downvote or {This reply is useless, made only for points} button should go a long way.

Wonder if this has been discussed previously?

I've seen this happen a ton. Honestly it's just people farming for messages so they can become Jr.VIP and start selling. Either that or to seem more credible? I don't know

the mods do react to that, but they can't filter out all it would be too many. i know for sure that they act on this, as i had a customer once complain to me that he thanked me for a post and got a warning lol
so if its annoying you in your own thread, just report it to make the mods life easier ;)

Not that smart, I see a abusive war with that function. Been discussed before. We should keep the forum positive.

yea up/down votes on a forum where people are used to manipulate these votes on basically any platform that exists is not a good idea :D

Mods take action when a user reports something with evidence.

Replying to Reply won't always have enough evidence to classify it as spam.

Still you can hit the report button whenever you see something against the forum rules.

I love the whole "why isn't the administration taking action" narrative that's been so popular here in the forum suggestions and feedback section as of late.

Even when I joined the forum as a member back in 2013, this problem existed. I can understand being frustrated with those replies asI remember being frustrated with users who would just rehash my replies to bump their post count.

However, the answer to these queries is always the same: have you reported this issue? Post count inflation is a commonly-broken rule around the forum, and our moderation team cleans up threads on a daily basis.

These types of posts fall under rule 3.5, so we do remove them and issue infractions when we receive reports or come across them ourselves.
3.5 Engaging in post count inflation by posting excessive amounts of short replies for the sole purpose of inflating your post count. This includes the infamous “thanks for the share.” (If you’d like to say “thanks” to someone for their effort/contribution, make use of the Like button).

As for why we don't allow user moderation, @RoiBox summed this up perfectly.

You were around when the "rep" feature was a thing, so I'm sure you remember why that got removed.
