Suggestion to remove the right for JR.VIPs to offer services without having a verified sales thread.

There are way too many scammers and opportunists out there taking advantage of this.

For example, a few weeks ago I wanted to buy Telegram verification - Immediately 2 accounts contacted me that hadn't posted anything for years and they offered everything... Forbes and New York Times articles, backlinks, Instagram verifications, Telegram verifications, and so forth... If it had been some newbie and not me they'd lost the money immediately.

Tons of shitlists are opened because of JR.VIPs are offering services and products they aren't able to deliver.

There is already a marketplace seller tag ($749) - make that mandatory instead of JR.VIP tag for those who want to sell without a sales thread.

Since there is no escrow in here and will not be in a foreseeable future then why should we allow these +100 post accounts to offer high-ticket services that nobody has even verified they can deliver?

This is not only about high-ticket items.. They respond to any and everything and most of them are opportunists, obviously rare exceptions apply but you shouldn't be able to sell without having a verified BST or paying a premium ($749) to make sure there are fewer scammers around.

There are scammers everywhere but there are also lots of jr vip members that provide amazing quality services. It's up to you to protect yourself and choose who you want to do business with.

BHW can't protect everybody, this is the internet.

If it's up to everyone to take care of themselves then this place would be a wild west.

There is a reason why services are getting verified in the first place, this is a childish argument.

The staff started a discussion about this just the other day.

I'll see where we stand on this in the next meeting and I'll leave this open for further thoughts from the community.

Never a good idea to throw away the baby with the bath water.

Cars kill people everyday, so don't drive a car? Knives wound people everyday so don't use a knife? No, I do not support this idea. It remains the responsibility of anyone who dares to do business through the internet to do their due diligence.

It is up to you to decide if you want to buy from a Jr VIP with or without a BST.
I offer my services sometimes to BHW members, but I don't want an active BST. Some of the best services I got here, by the way, were from users without a BST.

Some sort of "verified badge" could be a middle ground, though.

I disagree with outright banning sales without a thread for JVIP, but I do believe there can be adjustments made.

I had dealt with a JVIP who had no sales thread and his service was garbage. I had no where to voice my concerns since no thread was there. It wasn't an outright scam so I wasn't going to take the time to open a dispute, but It would be nice to have some type of vouch system for marketplace. Like a simple "would you buy from this user again?"

That's great. They should be able to verify their services then, no?

Why would anyone be against an extra layer of security lol?

If it had been some newbie
Newbies and others need to do their own due diligence WHICH IS AS PRETTY SIMPLE as reading and understanding ONLY these 2 :-
https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/how-to-avoid-scams.1038381/ in the Newbie Guide section
And
https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/avoid-being-scammed-basic-pointers-for-your-security.306301/ in the BHW Marketplace Rules section.
That is it. As very much pretty simple as that.
The problem is that Newbies and may be some other members too, fail to do their part by simple due diligence of reading and understanding the above mentioned rules or rather guidelines.

I understand where you're coming from but that would basically put an end to 'Want to buy' and 'hire a freelancer' sub-forums. Not every one offers something as a standard and prefers taking up jobs as per their skill sets as and when they pop up in Want to Buy or Hire a freelancer.
There needs to be an escrow service for sure for at least bigger amounts.

I edited my comment and added just that a couple of minutes ago. You were probably in the middle of writing that comment.

No it wouldn't put an end to anything. The cost of entry would just be higher as $749.

There will not be an escrow service here.

They need a separate license for that and certain services need to be removed completely off from BHW in that case so I don't believe that this will happen anytime soon otherwise we'd heard about it already.

Spot on analysis. Though an escrow option for larger amounts is a good idea, it should be an option and not mandatory because escrows at the end of the day are not free. Besides, there is always PayPal to use as an insurance.

My 2 cents. May be you are right, but most of time people are reselling services from other network which you may not be aware of. And we have seen many shitlist with sales thread owners doing scam. Always DYOR.

The $749 fee would keep the scammers off.

If you don't have money to pay for this fee then what sort of quality can you even offer to be honest?

What are those cheap services that BHW would lose exactly that we need in the WTB/HAF section?

I know where you're coming from for escrow point

No it will not, it will just increase the amount of scams in monetary terms. We are not supposed to mention any names but those who knows what i am referring to, knows.

Scammer are always gonna do scam, yes identity varification should be there.

If you raise the entry bar to WTB/HAF to $749, you will greatly reduce the talent pool and basically ensure a monopoly of available offers. Once buyers figure out that they are not getting sufficient offers to pick from, you might eventually end up forcing them to use alternate websites and BHW will loose out in this scenario.
