Remove marketplace threads being bumped on the front page

No, I don't have anything against marketplace sellers. I buy a lot of services myself, bothers me a bit it fills up the homepage.

When I want a service, I search for it in the marketplace. But I guess most people find it useful it's bumped on the front page.

Sellers cannot boost their thread without user intent.

1) a seller cannot post twice in 72 hours if no one writes to thread anything
2) even if it takes replies, a seller cannot write twice in 24 hours
3) good threads get more exposure, users reward good services by replies

It's very easy to say that from a buyer/random user point of view. If you don`t like us, you can just mass ignore all sellers, it takes more or less then 20 minutes.

I also don`t like Google Ads on Google search results, but they don`t listen to me.

Eh, really there should be a "filter forums" for user preferences and leave it up for the user to decide what they want to see on their homepage.

Like the title suggests, it discourages me from actually going to the front
page because more than half of the posts are just marketplace threads...

ok so no market place threads on the home page
remember people pay for there stuff to be seen.

better throw in no introduction threads on the home page
as there useless piles of welcome to bhw.

need to also remove threads i have no interest in.

lounge posts as they clutter the home page quite a bit.

at this rate you will have blank home page, because being
fare we will need to remove all threads from the home page

Introduction would be the first one to go as usually those offer less value. Usually.

I am a regular user here and I completely disagree with the op. Market threads are very necessary in home page. They give you an idea of the services that people are actually using and The ops are around to deliver. I am ok with market place threads in front page.

due to the vast amount of sub-forums and threads there is, i actually discovered and found more services that I continuously use from the homepage.
so they are very helpful for my case. like others said you can just train yourself to ignore them.
they have distinct titles anyway that screams "i sell something"
or maybe in BHW 2.0 there could be a filter or something for the homepage.

As many have previously pointed out - removing marketplace threads on the homepage is a no-go, as they pay for visibility.

However;

I do think BHW should implement a 'homepage filter' on different subforums except for the marketplace (as it's a paid section).

This will give you the ability to show/hide certain subforums and will increase the visibility of threads you do want to see,
yet still keeping the marketplace threads there.

As someone mentioned, adding more pages to it would be better. Most of the time I only check the front page and that's all I do.

Nope! Planning on becoming one myself, I'm just saying it's annoying 50% of the frontpage is constantly filled with marketplace threads.

Something which is annoying to you may be interesting to others. So it comes to personal choice. That's why you are given "ignore" option. Use it as much as you want to.

Agree with Proxygo. Istead of removing the bst threads, a switching option on top of the page would be better. Just like I can browse normal threads and if I can switch to the bst tab and browse all the compiled bst's. Similar for the lounge threads for the weeknd and trollz. Something like that.
This way a max of 3 tabs can fulfill the need to remove unnecessary threads. Just my opinion as I personally dislike those troll and lounge thread on the front
