When I was 21 and started in IM I was a big fan of old people jokes starting with "back in my day..." Here is a list of Back in my day jokes that may resonate. Im feeling old so i might as well get with the program. If mods want to delete this feel free I just figured it would bring a bit of nostalgia.

Back in my day.... People would double click everything

Back in my day.... We used to do reciprocal links (link exchanges) till the cows came home and they worked.

Back in my day.... People used web directories as a source of information and they ranked sites.

Back in my day.... Google stock was worth less than a barrel of flour

Back in my day.... I used progs and punters to get people on AOL !

What do you remember from back in your day?

I wasnt so lucky I started IM in 2011

I didnt get a chance to touch a computer because my family were so poor

Im sure it was alot easier back in 1995

Good Old days...
Still remember that, the forum is a place to discuss, not to spam, etc
got a lot of freebies[now only can get in VIP section[other forum]]
Adsense For Domain become popular

Damn I am not that old I started in 2006 lol. Now I feel really old....

I developed a AOL OH (overhead) account chat room scroll destroyer. It was built in VB with keystrokes. All you had to do was input what you wanted to blast in the chat room and it would blast it so fast that everyone in the chat room would get booted offline.

AOHELL
Back Orifice

OHMAN!!! the warez mass mail rooms in AOL

fuck those were the good ole days.

Back in the days quantity mattered over quality in terms of backlinks

Also the crew coolX

My handle was ZeRoX 3D

I was also part of the coolX crew

I totally forgot about Mass Mail Chat Rooms private rooms MM1-MM10 where gold. Send you email for a list.... Imagine the possibilities today. I also used to think Phishing was a game used to get master accounts so I could play crappy games online

People will say the same thing about IM today

Today theres a huge opportunity all around, things will naturally get more difficult and competitive. Dont dick around and waste time as theres a huge opportunity now.

I agree thats the one thing that makes me choose this line of work. Its a constant search for knowledge and your fighting a complex-ed algorithm so everyday is a meaningful challenge.

AOL progs and punterz were the best! Did you evey find the chat rooms with all the Warez files? They were awesome. A bot would post a list and you pmmed the bot and BOOM all the files in your mailbox. The good ole days.

The mass mail chat rooms you could download anything 500kb (might be a stretch) at a time and it would take days for anything worth the effort. AOL 3.0 ran sh*t and my personal favorite punter was myself "<h1>..<h2>..<h3> repeated enough times was good enough to punt most people within 30 seconds. $IM_off to keep you safe lol

Yeah I remember those. I was really a newbie then and been doing a lot of research before I get the hang of it.

I totally forgot about overhead accounts. Back in the day we would search nonstop for one of you to be in our gang of E Thugs. That was a threat "my friend has an OH watch yourself" 1997 was a good year.
