Relevancy VS Authority?

You need to have good search relevancy before you can reach the top end of the Domain Authority scale.

i definitely prefer a link from a relevant blog thats been around for a while over a generic huffpo link

Personally, both are as important as each other.
It's no good everything being relevant if it has no authority, as nobody will visit to read.
You need relevancy though to be considered a serious authority on a subject.

If you have to ask on which comes first. For me, I think you should be laying your foundation first on being relevant. Eventually you'll gain authority as you are producing more quality results. Then you'll be attracting people to your site. Of course, you will really work hard for it. But still, both are important. You are going to need both in order to rank well.

Well, both are necessary to rank better.If both are not possible, go with relevancy.Slow and steady wins the race.

Since Relevancy is the difficult one to get I would also choose authority. So both are equally important IMO.

you can have both
if its about backlinks:
relevant backlinks = need backlinks to rank if its harder than lowcomp
authority backlinks = need relevancy to rank if its harder than lowcomp
but imo authority is more important = if two sites are backlinked and both have relevancy = the one with bigger authority wins

It is both working,
hard way to keep focusing on authority
but the easy way to got rank is to focus on the relevancy
sure both will work,

They are two separate signals and you should use both of them. Use PBN's to push your Relevancy signal (so you'll have more of these) then less high Authority links through your site. DONT LOOK AT MOZ DA!!!
