Google sees right through comment spam and forum junk ... do too much and it will actually hurt your site ... it has to have lots of engagement and click throughs to have any value to your site at all.

Profile links help you gain some domain authority.
Don't put inner page link in profile. Create links to your main website url.

By increasing the DA of the site, all of your pages will perform well on Google.

DA passes through from main page to internal pages at about 100% - 50% - 25% - 5% in degree of separation from the main page - considering TF, DA, PA, etc etc are not really Google metrics and they use 200+ now increasing the DA of a site and all of the pages perform well is pretty much false - the next page might get a bit of a bump from your home page but it still has a larger hill to climb to rank.

I used to use this method, I'd guess still effective.

Sign up to niche related forums with niche related keywords as user names.

Obviously add your domain to your profile.

Make profile active commenting on threads, plus liking comments. Liking comments gives your niche related username a link back to your profile with niche related username therefore anchor text to profile.

Collect all posts and made comments, and spam to fuck with web2 blasts.

Plus also to get away with dropping forum links. I'd write a post with keywords in, responding to an old dead thread. Once the thread sinks again, go back and edit a link into your post.

I wrote an algorithm to distinguish between profile links, directory links, citations, web 2.0 blogs, authority sites, editorial sites, etc... GSA, as a software, in its core, works by recognizing the platforms it posts links to. So, you are assuming Google, a billion dollar company, cannot do that? Made my day really! And it's not just the source of a backlink, relevance plays a pretty big role too - it's relevance first, power second. Otherwise, you can rank a blank page for anything you want in the title. If you are Wikipedia, maybe you can do that. A smaller guy? Don't think so...

I am not talking about shitty profiles created by GSA which can be found by simple footprints. I am talking about valid and legit sites on which you can create profiles. For instance sketchfab.com/MYprofileUSERNAME will not be recognised as pure profile by google. How would they recognise it? Just because a photo can be uploaded and there is a heading "about me"? Please...

Profile created on a domain with thousands of outgoing links + without being interlinked will not bring any value. Profile created on any authority website with low amount of outgoing links + being interlinked (ofc there are more factors) like forbes.com/MYprofileUSERNAME will have as much value and power as any other editorial link.

Relevancy in this case is not that important. Still most important is the source of the backlinks + anchor text.

Have you even looked at the kinds of things google have been doing recently? If you do an image search, they are able to show you images that look pretty damn similar, based off machine learning algorithms.

They can absolutely tell the difference between a link on some random forum and an editorial link.
