An old thread may be closed or may still be in an open state. I do understand that bumping / commenting / replying in an old thread, must be avoided as per BHW guidelines.
However, what my suggestion is that reporting a newbie who attempted to sell in an old thread, must not be considered as a frivolous report, if that newbie is still active on BHW and that newbie's membership level is still newbie.
An example :-
I am a newbie with a BHW account in which I am still active.
Long ago (even a year ago) I attempted to sell in some thread. Till now it went unreported, hence I got no warning.
In that case, there are chances that now as well I may attempt to sell, because all this while no action was taken.
Had any warning been given to me anytime about that my attempt to sell, I would not make such an attempt again. Perhaps I may even succeed now to scam another member.
Hope you see the point and realize that in such a scenario, reporting a newbie attempting to sell, even if thread is old or closed, needs to be considered as a valid reporting and not a frivolous reporting.
So, my suggestion is, regarding old threads, if a valid BHW rules violation happened and someone reported that after even say 1 year, such a reporting ideally should not be considered as a frivolous reporting, PROVIDED the respective BHW member is still acive on the forum.
