Reduce bounce rate

I have a website in the quotes niche. Every post has more than 10 images, the content is to the point but still the bounce rate is always over 90%. All my competitors have similar figures but still I want to beat them fast?C you all suggest ways on how to reduce it?

Provide quality content and link out to other pages on your site throughout your article
 
Not sure how your site is laid out but you could go with a giveaway, to enter they need to swipe X amount of quotes then have a popup that displays when they swipe X amount of quotes and have them enter there email.

Then you can send them affiliate offers to quote related products as well.

You can try to change the web design and to improve your website's speed
 
  • Do a general performance audit of your site.
  • Avoid popups if any.
  • Set external links to open in a new window.
  • Ensure your site is mobile-friendly and add attractive images and videos.
  • Look for obvious improvements - Take a look at each page individually and try to imagine it from a user’s perspective.
  • Tools with heat mapping, click tracking, and session recording abilities can give you more information about how users interact with the page.

Mobile friendly was a big one for me. I saw I had a 97% bounce rate on my landing page. What I realised looking at it is the bounce rate was 60% for desktop users. I thought hangon wtf is going on here. I realised some of the images I was using weren't properly showing up on mobile and very importantly some of the images with text in them while readable on desktop were completely unreadable on mobile (unless someone zoomed in). My bounce rate for mobile went a lot closer to desktop (desktop is just lower bounce rate in general I find) once I fixed that. Sometimes it can be something small.

Yeah I do agree with you. I also had many un-optimized images but now I had improved upon it. BTW Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

The number of images does not matter, quality and informative images will attract the visitors to read and stay for a minute.
Why don't you try infographics?

If you want to create a one on your own, I would suggest to follow the tips below:
  • Pick a topic for your audience that speaks to their needs, interests, and/or pain points.
  • Create a catchy title - Infographics are all about visual communication, so your title must draw them in to look.
  • Figure out how the data will flow from one point to the next.
  • Limit the text as humans prefer to digest visual content
  • Use Metaphors and cite sources
  • You can use tools like "Visme" that make data visualization easy and eye-catching.

Bounce rate is rather subjective - but it boils down to this - If the visitor does not like what they are seeing, and when they leave immediately, that's a + to the existing bounce rate. There are some tips and tricks to reduce bounce rate - eg, install a pop-up plugin that redirects them to something very interesting, or install additional related content plugins, so that they are curious to browse further. Or an exit-intent popup might also work in some cases.
 
Providing high-quality content free from Grammatical errors will help in reducing the bounce rate. Also, make your website user-friendly because people usually like those websites that take lesser time to load. Also, optimize your call to action placement that must be very clear and honest.
 
I personally embedded very relevant HQ videos on pages and found that it reduced the bounce rate. You might want to try that out.
