How does a website like reddit handle so many image, gif upload, traffic and all that?
Just curious as reddit user.

I mean, they're not using $10/month servers, that's for sure. To display media files flawlessly and rapidly, they're probably using a bunch of premium CDNs.

Compression and great servers.

I might be wrong (and correct me if I am) but if I remember correctly Reddit doesn't own its servers, but they've been using Amazon Web Services for a really long time.
