I'm looking into creating a bot for reddit. The only reason I'm holding back in creating one is I don't know if there is enough people here who would want it. I mean $15 for 100 votes is just ridiculous. That'll be $150 for 1,000 votes.
I don't think you are getting it. As fast as you will put the vote up with a bot, there will be 10 people to knock it down
Great! I like discussing ideas from people who actually know what they're talking about.
So say you have a site/link that just needs a boost of votes. It's not spammy and has good content.. I'm guessing a jumpstart of 1,000 votes wouldn't hurt its popularity. Or am I mistaken here?
Reddit is a weird beast. There are literally hundreds of thousands of people ready to down vote anything that doesn't follow the reddit mindset. If something gets 100 or even a 1000 votes but is just a site that really has no viral value or significance the reddit army spot it straight away and down vote it into oblivion. This happens in minutes! not hours or days!
I have had things hit the front page before and the traffic is incredible!!! How much money did I make? $2.00 Don't believe me? Ask Bass Tracker Boats, he was there watching! Redditors are separate species to the rest of us, it is estimated that up to 70% of them have ad blockers! By the way the things that went viral on reddit I had no part in. It was something on one of my sites that some other redditor posted. That is also a key to reddit. If one of the redditors with big karma points posts something it has a lot more chance than some random with 4 posts or less under his belt.
by the way the things that go viral on reddit tend to go viral across the web. After reddit, facebook and twitter came on board and my server melted down from all the traffic.![]()
Hey guys, I'm a bit newbie here. I'm lauching a browser extension that adds a full-featured twitter client inside facebook. I think it has a lot of potential to go viral but I'm not sure how to start. I supposed that buying some digg/reddit votes to boost it could work but after reading the whole thread I'm not sure about that. What do you think about it?
Thanks in advance,
Bruno.
