KYC to do what? anyway, my reddit account was banned. A lot of house cleaning is on-going over there maybe as a result of going public. I hope what happened to Tumblr after Yahoo acquisition doesn't happen to Reddit.

Like someone else said the whole point of Reddit was anon chats (a large share of which were obviously fake or made up)
Their conversion sucks though so they're probably going for legit ads sales now which requires them to have real users

Asking people for an ID before registering on a forum won't in any way encourage a REAL user to join the forum, unless they absolutely need to.

I just checked again: 4G without Proxy; yesterday, they somehow banned my Dedicated IP from PureVPN (I mean, they are shi* anyway, but the dedicated IP was always good to go).
It could be that the reason behind this was just the use case with my VPN. Now, with ExpressVPN (Switzerland), there are no issues.
Dont use proxies for casual surfing - only for work.

I don't think they will ask for that is like people being asked for ID to create a facebook account, no one will give it and just move to the next social media, maybe a special request to access dev tools on reddit or for API access makes more sence but for any user doesn't seems to be a right play for reddit that will be their doom if that is the case.

That warning means your IP is suspicious on reddit, datacenter IPs can still be used just not dirty ones or widely known ones.
They have been doing this for a while now, just didn't look as fancy as now. Before it was a white page with "whoa there pardner" saying.
It started in the late 2023, but there was a loophole, you could use old.reddit without any restrictions, but as of late march this year they disabled that too.
On the bright side, they will never implement true KYC because that will destroy one of the biggest and unique features of reddit: anonymity.
Doing such will literally destroy 1/3 of their traffic if not more.
But they will absolutely become more strict in future for bots/spammers/advertisers probably.

This is on VPS I rented they didn't mention anything about KYC.They also block the old reddit as well

I just create and verify 500 reddits acc in bulk, you just have to use proxy from antarctic and no kyc required and lemon juice on top before warm the head
