Steve huffman, the cofounder and CEO of reddit, is now a billionaire - worth around $1.2 billion.
It took him 20 years to reach this point. Reddit struggled for a long time without profit, but now it's finally doing great - 5 profitable quarters in a row and record earnings.

Most of Reddit's money now comes from ads and AI data deals with Google and OpenAI. Traffic has also exploded - Google searches linking to reddit are up over 500% in just 2 years.
The crazy part? Huffman sold reddit for only $10 million back in 2006. Years later, he came back as CEO, rebuilt the company, and turned it into one of the biggest platforms in the world.

Now he says, Reddit is all about being "for humans, by humans"

Reddit is growing fast - more people, more views, more reach.
If you are smart, now's the time to use it and make money from it.
Because when the next wave comes,the people already using it will win first.

Google's update helped Reddit get more views, but real user activity shows it's not just because of SEO..

Reddit truly delivers surprising results when combined with SEO. It's also a social media platform that effectively boosts website traffic.
 
Google does it to many sites. First, it added a "I'm feeling lucky" button to promote Wikipedia, and eventually ditched it. Now wiki is not getting traffic. Same thing happened to sites like Pinterest and X at some point. Now, it's scraping data from reddit, so people start finding reddit everywhere on SERPs. So, obviously there'll be a spike in traffic. When Google ditches it, reddit will collapse at once. It's opportunism more than achievement.

Google's push gave reddit a huge exposure, but people stayed for the content. That's why the traffic keeps growing instead of slowing down.
 
The future also seems bright. I heard that founder left and came.back multiple times.

spez, isnt well liked on reddit for good reason(his constant capitulation to MUSK, which led to the massive ban waves that occured around januarary and feburary, the other ones trying to make another platform
 
Yeah, it's crazy how reddit turned things around. Dude went from selling it for $10 Million to becoming a billionaire. Shows how big reddit's getting again- ads, AI deals, Traffic blowing up. Honestly, now's the best time to ride the wave before everyone else catches on.

I've seen PR of celebrities and marketers doing excessive promotion through fake accounts, so it's not really people showing interest. There are a ton of bots too. However, I do agree that reddit has loyal users who stayed with it regardless of traffic.
 
Reddit's comeback proves long-term platforms can explode when trust and real users matter again.
 
The AI data deals were a turning point. Licensing content to google and OpenAI brought hundreds in millions in new revenue.

If you're not using reddit to grow your business now, you'll never .
 
Wow i have never expect that. That is very good. Another source to generate traffic :)
 
It's all about the users. Reddit functions as a mainstream platform and a niche platform at the same time and I think this is its biggest strength right now.
