Recommend extra legit money for my daughter please

My daughter wants to earn some extra money - times are hard for young family's these days.
Shes self employed as a nail and beauty technician and loves social media.
I was thinking of some kind of agency where she gets paid for replying to people who want to boost their influencer profiles etc
Something like that -
shes very articulate, intelligent and has a great sense of humour. ( Apple dosnt fall far from the tree lol)
Suggestions please.

I don't know if it still works as it did in the past, but I made good money with Pinterest management (10 years ago or so). So, if she loves social media, she should try that. It can be anything, from Pinterest, IG, Facebook, TikTok, etc.

Good luck & kudos for that she wants to work. It's a very good thing.
 
Why not grow accounts organically in different niches and sell them?

My niece bought 4 ice cream machines from China.

She created an Instagram account and now rents them out in her city and the machines are booked out all the time.

Parents rent them for children's birthdays and different companies rent them for their events etc so it's a consistent flow of money and the machines cost some $500 a piece if I remember correctly.

She makes more in a month than the total cost of those machines, no paid advertisement or website... everything is done through Instagram.

Things like that are hard to fail really as should it come to that, you can just sell the machinery.

To be honest, there is a really easy way for her to make very BIG money, and very fitted.

And it's really that simple:

Let her record every time customer service, the whole process, nailing, salon, hair making, or whatever, typically, you see these videos on platforms here and there, and you negotiate with customer, ask them if you can upload the whole process, most people will give you a "yes".

With unlimited niche contents, she can grow very quick, and attract more local people to her stores, while earning a good sum online, via various ways.
 
Have her promote other nail technicians from neighbour cities.
She knows the industry better than any other marketing agency and she's not competing with them.

Later on, if she likes it, she can learn how to run campaigns on Meta, Tiktok, Google, Yelp and whatnot. This is an entire business built around the skills she already have.

Heck, I'll teach her myself if she needs it.

How was the buying process from China ? Is it really that easy ? What about taxes and all ?
 
There are two main avenues worth investing time on that have already been mentioned in the thread - work to become an influencer in her niche and build an ecommerce store in her niche. The two together will go very well with her current occupation as each activity complements the others. Synergy! :P

I don't remember all the specifics. I saw her last time a few years back but I can try to pull out her Instagram business profile later on and see.

There can for sure be taxes, depending on where you are from. We are from northern Europe so if the product you order is above a certain price you pay the tax. Some sellers can mark down the item cost and you are not paying anything but this is between you and the supplier I guess.

If you have a couple of thousand to put invest in the machinery then you should have several hundred for taxes too.

PS: Ice cream machines aren't the only thing you can buy and rent like that... open one of these major Chinese marketplaces and you can farm ideas from there.

If she is already self employed I’d suggest focusing on expanding that career. Analyse all aspects of what she is doing- hourly rate, how quickly she can move between appointments, potential upsells to clients, agreeing to cut cost of chair rental (if applicable), return customers, quality of work (leading to ability to increase charges), customer relationship management (making people more loyal, referrals).

Maybe she can also do mobile call-outs or work in the evenings?

Then start setting some goals, making herself accountable (which makes you work twice as hard as if you might fire yourself otherwise).

Aim to increase everything over the coming 6-12 months.

Long term goal: open her own shop perhaps?

The reason I say all this because having a career in motion then working at other money making methods seems a bit like having a service based website then installing Adsense on it. If she’s got the ability to run a self employed business (which not everybody has the skills or drive to do) then she should focus on that because I bet it has a ton of potential.

She has just opened her own solo salon Dave - Its time constraints - two young kids and shes flat out with work. She worked all day Sunday - has one day off a week to do the shopping and house work etc.
This is more about evenings at home converting her doom scrolling into some extra cash.
her clients her happy to have her film the nail process - I even lent her some camera mounts and lights for the desk.
I don't think shes confident enough to do the videos but I'm trying to convince her that's she shouldn't be frightened of making mistakes or that its not quite top quality video.
And she's not upselling enough at all in my opinion - the small shop she has has space for a lot more products.
I mean I bought some £8 beard oil from the Kurdish barber last week I bet hes 100% mark up on that lol..
But I'm loving all the suggestions I've ping'd her the thread so she can read it .
