1. Community Notes replacing fact-checking
Meta is replacing its traditional fact-checking system with Community Notes, which allows users to contribute context to posts. This is currently being tested in the U.S. on Facebook, Instagram, and Threads. Notes only appear when there is broad agreement among contributors.
2. Return of the "Friends Tab"
Facebook is reintroducing the Friends Tab, allowing users to view posts, Reels, Stories, and updates specifically from their friends—separate from algorithm-suggested content or strangers.
3. Launch of Live Audio Rooms
Facebook is testing Live Audio Rooms, a feature similar to Clubhouse. It supports up to 50 speakers with unlimited listeners and is integrated with donation and nonprofit support tools.
4. Improved video creation & Threads-Fediverse integration
As of June 17:
- The video creation interface on Facebook is now simpler and more user-friendly.
- Threads now includes search features and integration with the Fediverse (decentralized platforms like Mastodon).
5. Parental Controls for Teen Accounts
Facebook and Messenger now include Teen Account features similar to Instagram. Parents can monitor livestreams, approve activity, and blur sensitive content in messages.
6. Mass Facebook Group Bans due to Technical Error
Thousands of Facebook groups were mistakenly suspended worldwide. Meta confirmed the issue and is restoring access. Admins are advised to wait rather than submit appeals immediately.
7. Ad Policy & Targeting Updates
- Starting June 23, 2025, Meta is reorganizing ad targeting groups to optimize ad performance.
- New restrictions on health, finance, and sensitive terms/images are being enforced more strictly since early 2025.

I am running an ad campaign for the adult dating niche and using sexy images to advertise. I feel like things are not as effective as before, the ad campaigns are rejected even though I have hidden it through various methods

Things get tough when advertising on fb

Thank for sharing bro, very helpful. Facebook constantly updates its algorithms and policies, so to run effective ads, we're need to regularly follow these changes, optimize your content, comply with policies, and test multiple small campaigns to find the best results.

Thanks for taking the time to update and share with us.

Facebook will always have new updates to improve, we understand that and will change to be suitable and better.

Interesting changes overall. That Friends Tab comeback and the ad policy update are the ones I’ll be watching closely. Could shift a lot for marketers.

Thank you for taking the time to update and share with us. much appreciated.

Thank for sharing. Facebook’s updates show a clear focus on safety, transparency, and better ad performance. New ad targeting rules help improve results while ensuring compliance. For example, health product ads must now avoid sensitive terms and imagery.

Additional:

8. AI-Powered Ads & Full Automation by 2026
Meta is expanding Advantage+ AI tools and plans to fully automate ad creation by the end of 2026: images, videos, copy, targeting—all by AI.

9. All Facebook Videos Become Reels
Starting mid-2025, all new videos on Facebook will default to Reels format, removing the old “Video” tab completely.
No more 90-second limit and more creation tools added.

10. Camera Roll Access Controversy
Meta is asking users to grant full access to their photo galleries for AI training and content suggestions.
Raises privacy concerns, although Meta claims data won’t be used for ads.
