So I saw this picture in a reputable crypto group and fell for it instantly but I decided to follow along and see where it heads to - picture below

scam.jpg

I actually believed it but decided to go on twitter and check out if binance tweeted that but they never did - hmm something fishy.

I decided to visit the url in the image and it took me to a medium look alike page that is fake and it is not truly a medium article because nothing else clicks apart from the link to the scam page with fake script showing fake transactions.

They basically tell you to send some amount of btc, eth or tether in order to verify and get a double the amount you sent just exactly like the scam they pulled up on twitter and youtube recently.

Decided to share my first quick detective experience.

Stay safe, cheers.

Kinda obvious, but people will be scammed as usual...

Very few will fall for these sort of scams, anyone that knows binance enough to be Interested in this will know binance wouldn't do a giveaway where you first have to pay some amount to receive it.

You might need to trade a certain amount on binance to qualify but certainly not pay for it.

so how did they faked the username and. the verified badge
clever scam

We no this works because we just think of the tiktok common scam.

You put on tiktok a advert saying free money contact me, you tell them to fill in a survey you get paid and never give anything back.

Scam.

This scam works on same principles except you give them money first and never get free bitcoin.

Not sure when people would get that there is no one who could give you thousands of money for nothing.

Whoever you are, TRADERA is not a scam because that is what you are referring to.

It has helped a lot of people very close to me and me personally up till now

MLM is a legit business if done well and planned well.

I can't believe that people fall for these things. It's a bit better than some other attempts I have seen, but it is still easy to tell the real offers apart from the fake ones.

It's not clever at all. I tell you now an absolute secret how they did it. You may sit down first since it will blow your mind:
You. Can. Fake. Screenshots

Mind = blown

I wonder how many people still in today's age fall for double your money scams. They are as old as the hills. Who ever got double their money from an ad? Nobody, lol
