Receiving Warning Emails From My ISP

Hey everybody.

Lately, my parents have been complaining about getting emails from our ISP saying that scamming/spamming has been reported against our IP.

My parents have been getting these emails for almost a year and a half, however, lately there has been an outburst in emails/reports against our IP. Around 3-5 per week from Telus themselves. Usually, we'd only get 1 email every few months and we just ignored them.

I honestly have no idea what these emails are about and my parents believe that it has something to do with me and my IM stuff. They're threating to take away my computer because of these emails saying that they need to or else our internet will get shut off soon.

The only thing I've been doing using my computer is running GMT2 and doing CPA with Instagram. (I'm using proxies of course)

I remember 2 years ago I did install some malware onto my computer, however, right after I noticed I wiped my PC and installed a fresh version of Windows 10. But I'm pretty sure that malware is 100% gone now and shouldn't be causing this.

What should I do considering I have no idea about these emails that my parents are getting?

This shit just got 10x more serious.

Apparently, there have been 6700 attempts to hack into some random bank from my IP.

100% coming from my PC, I guess still have some sort of malware still on my PC.

I'm kind of nervous to see what unfolds of this situation, hopefully, no legal issues.

I'm going to bring my PC into the shop either tomorrow or some other day this week.

No. Bring your computer to the cop first. to clean your name. don't act like a criminal cleaning all the evidence! Just tell them your story

this sounds very serious

how did you no they where using your line to hack banks ?

did you dowload any free software very strange , you said you re installed windows 10 , was it legit copy?

your host must be providing a static ip .

you should be able to monitor all out going traffic with your firewall settings and then see what app causing this nastyness

How do they know this? The ISP only sees what's coming from your modem, it could just as likely be a neighbor connected to your wifi.

My advice would be to disconnect your PC for a few hours, then ask the ISP if the attacks are continuing. If there's no change, then your PC is in the clear, and further troubleshooting should narrow down which device is causing the attacks.

I knew they were using my line to hack banks because my parents received another email saying something about 6700 attempts to hack bank info or something related to that.

I'm almost 99% sure I'm a part of a botnet. This most likely is from the malware I installed 2 years ago.

I'm transferring all important data from the PC I am using to a USB over to my Laptop.

I'm going to unplug my ethernet cord and investigate any weird/malicious activities on my PC.

Tomorrow I will probably bring my PC to the police station as "SAMSON10014" has said to do.

I'm going to also clear everything from chrome as I have some of my bank stuff saved.

you just said you got stuff in cookies and browser like your own bank info .

trust me if you was computer hacked there have the lot

i am also bending to think this is a modem line hack or some how someone hacked your wifi .

i really dont think you need to take the laptop to the police , i do think you can phone your internet service provider up to exsplian about getting mailware and possabilty wif has been hacked.

if there a good service and beleve you they can give you a new ip , and monitor the bad one .

I'm not really sure how to use that "CurrPorts" tool that you linked.

I did open it and see a bunch of "Unknown" things.

Their status is "Time Wait".

I'm pretty sure these attacks happen while my PC is idle, and the reason why these attacks have probably been happening a lot lately is because I running my PC 24/7 because of GMT2.

First, make sure it's actually your PC that's the problem. Unplugging it for a few hours should be more than sufficient for this.

Second, unless you get a subpoena from an actual court, DO NOT voluntarily hand over anything to the police. If you can make this go away quietly and without incident, the last thing you need is a bunch of cops "finding" a folder full of illegal porn on your PC...

sorry but i dont no them app i only hoped they helped , looking at that info your showing looks like a app is running unknown but useing 0 resouces .

the way you was talking there be big traffic from a app and you soon notice it.
 
I'm very curious to see how this turns out. I know that this may sound dumb, but have you already checked the emails your parents received to see if they're actually coming from your ISP company - or it might be some phishing scam otherwise?
 
go with your pc to the cops and tell em what happend to you
 
Have you ever heard of someone turning themselves in to the police just to be found innocent and have no charges filed? Neither have I.

The police only require two things to charge someone. A crime, and a suspect. OP, if you go in and explain your situation, you'll be handing the police both on a silver platter. In all likelihood the trial would turn out in your favor, but that would only come after a long and expensive process of defending yourself.

If the ISP forwards the matter to the authorities, then you would contact a lawyer, and do not say or do anything outside of what your lawyer advises. And if it never gfoes to the authorities, be thankful for your freedom, and be careful about what you download in the future.
 
i am sure you can get free legal advise on the matter .

if your advised to stop your internet contract , i am prety sure you can continue your marketing on a vps via your mobile and sim data.

can use a local internet cafe or library to do marketing

if you was not earning via your adveture with a bot can have a complete rest from internet marketing .

with your laptop i would take the harddrive out and then replace with a new one .

you got to be carefull putting any data on a usb stick becouse the problam might tranfer to the usb stick.

if you do transfer anythink to a usb stick make sure you virus cheek deep for any problams before transfering and even afther.

You installed jinglin traffic bot and you dont want to tell to anyone. Accept it.
 
I use those little notices in the mail for keeping my chimney on in the winter when I run out of log.
