Received a C&D from Meta

Lol, not possibly, certainly.

You arent in the US, do not send them anything, start over but with separating concerns, keep your track hiding tidy.
How do i start over when i only have 1 domain and i have given this much time. Shall i continue with this one and what do you think? Will there be any consequences if it remained on the same.

Just ignore, bro
You are located far away, they are just trying to scare you, no reason for major concerns

Nah you cant keep using that domain, you can also not 30x redirect anything, get new domain and devices if possible. Staying on same domain will have you identified as referrer, so, really cant do that.

It is best to immediately stop the activity in question . Do not respond, keep quiet and adjusting is the safest action.

Recently, the company "Meta" has been sending these letters to many developers across various fields quite frequently. Some may receive this letter for mentioning keywords related to the Instagram trademark, while others might get it for collecting public data or for entirely different reasons. The bottom line is that they want to control and make behavior predictable; they want to write their own rules for the internet.

I believe that all these messages should simply be ignored, as there is no clear criminal activity involved. The case of the company "Bright Data" clearly shows that it successfully proved its case in court.

Considering that Meta side-lawyers (Perkins Coie) send illusionary messages to some users multiple times to elicit a response, this company is merely trying to get an answer from a person so they can check a box and receive payment for it.

Therefore, people have clearly and correctly stated that you can pause your activities for a while if you feel scared or intimidated, and then resume whenever you want. You can even choose not to stop anything at all. Normal people don’t worry about these letters because they are primarily aimed at intimidating individuals. Judicial practice proves that Meta often fails to demonstrate that the rules they have created are rules that everyone must follow. The internet is an open space, regulated by the laws of different countries, not by the company Meta.

The most pressing question here is about the double standards of Meta . They steal data from other social companies. They ignore socially significant aspects and the impact of their products on people. They collect various data that you might not even be aware of. There have been numerous scandals related to this.

Interestingly, they recently used copyrighted books unofficially to train their neural network. And you see, they present this as normal behavior, as completely acceptable influence, and so on. However, it is important to understand that they are simply making up their own rules for the internet. This is a very dirty company; I would say it is the worst company in the world.

Exactly mate, i have already stopped the activity that was in question not criminal tho but i didn’t wanted any issues so i stopped it and made them aware that the activity is stopped now. Also they have sent me a document now to sign that for memorialising our agreement, but i will not sign that as i have already submitted the activity in question!

Consult a legal professional immediately for review. Ensure compliance to avoid potential legal consequences while addressing Meta's concerns.

Hello guys, i recently received a cease and desist from meta, what should I do? Any advices please?
You should promptly seek legal counsel to assess the cease and desist and ensure you respond appropriately.

what happened next ? any update ?

I’m not a lawyer, but here are some practical steps you can take right away:

  1. Read the letter carefully
    – Note exactly what Meta is demanding (e.g., stop using a trademarked name, remove content, etc.).
    – Pay attention to any deadlines.
  2. Do not ignore it
    – Missing the stated deadline can escalate things to a lawsuit.
  3. Gather your records
    – Save emails, contracts, domain registrations, or anything relevant to show what you were doing and when.
  4. Stop any clearly infringing activity (if applicable)
    – If you’re obviously using Meta’s trademarks or assets without permission, consider pausing or removing that use until you have legal advice.
  5. Consult an attorney
    – An intellectual-property or business lawyer can explain your rights and options, and may respond to Meta on your behalf.

Taking these steps quickly can help you avoid bigger legal and financial problems.

I received same type of notice few months before, currently the mail exchanges are going on.

Hi there! A cease and desist from Meta is definitely serious and needs immediate attention! First, stop all current advertising activities immediately to avoid escalating the situation. Read the letter carefully to understand exactly what Meta is claiming you violated.

Go to Ads Manager → "Account Quality" → check for specific policy violations and address each one. If it's about intellectual property, remove any disputed content immediately. For trademark issues, ensure you have proper authorization to use any branded terms.

Consider consulting with a lawyer who specializes in digital advertising law, especially if significant revenue is at stake. Document everything and respond professionally within their specified timeframe.

What specific violation is mentioned in the cease and desist, and have you identified which content or campaigns might have triggered this action?
