Really desperate newbie here..

See, the web gives you a platform to sell something. So your first job should be to make/find something that you can sell. Next, you need to find people who can buy it !

Is it really that difficult?

I may not have too much time for guiding as such... but some of you can get in touch with me if you need any quick help on anything. (Unless of course, you are willing to pay for the mentor ship :) )

I've been in the "making money online" business for probably 1,5 years now, and it took me over 1 year to actually make money online!

As other here say, you have to be determined to succeed, there is no quick fix, nothing comes for free, you just have to work, work, work and test, test, test until you find your niche. When you find something your good at and you're making money from it, scale it and automate it. That's my advice.

Yep, good advice. And apply the 80/20 rule. Spend 80% of your time on the activities that make money. 20% on your research, thinking ahead, testing other methods etc...

I don't know why more people are not suggesting this

But to me it's very clear you need to get a normal working job and save up some money.

Once you do that you will have some money to invest and also be less desperate, while learning money management.

I fail to understand why that's not always the first help given, I can't emphasis how important those steps are, it really makes me feel like not many people are actually making money online for real, that or it's just funny to troll.

If you can't succeed at working for an extended period of time making/saving money from a job first, then making money online will be impossible as it requires some real life skills like legit determination and strong work ethic, if you don't have those things already then they need cultivating and developing, the single best way to do this is in a normal job., it will literally solve all these initial stumbling blocks and problems you have.

For anyone reading this who hasn't started: the absolute worst time to start is when you're desperate. It allows you to make bad decisions and be taken advantage of. The fact of the matter is that this making money online stuff takes time. It requires testing and time. What works for one guy may not work for you or may not work in your niche. There are no surefire methods, and the pain in the butt part is that the most effective methods usually require money because the free methods are often a huge grind due to competition. A good example is traffic generation. Google traffic is free, but a grind to earn. Facebook ad traffic is easier, but costs money.

I'm not saying your situation is hopeless, but if you are asking me for advice, it would be to get yourself out of the desperate situation with a reliable way you know, such as traditional employment/online freelance work, and work your butt off after-hours to build your online empire. Perhaps you can be a VA for someone on here and learn the ropes while earning a paycheck. In my opinion though, there's just too much to learn in this business to do it when you're feeling desperate. At that point, you might as well start buying lottery tickets, because hitting it big your first time (or first few times online) is like winning the lottery. It happens for some people, but read the forums: it doesn't happen for most.

This is not me being a prick, I'm a dude who built my online business while working a $#^tty cubicle job and raising a family. It took me 8 years to get my business to the point where I was earning enough income to support my family's lifestyle. Many, many people get to that point faster than I did, but I was very careful, and had very limited time to work on it (basically when my family was sleeping, and I would work on it before work too), but very few people pull off repeatable success in just a few weeks/months.

i understand making money online requires a lot of energy, effort and time. is it okay for me to ask you where and how did you start your online business from the beginning?

I agree with @seo , when you're desperate you tend to make desperate mistakes, like paying a lot of money for useless guides, e-books, courses - whatever - in the hopes that it'll help you hit the jackpot immediately. That's never the case, of course, and then you're out of money. I've made several mistakes like this, and it's not nice to realize that you've duped yourself. So be aware of that. Good luck otherwise.

i am not trying to earn tons of money with a flick of time. i just want to know how people start online money making business in the very beginning. i need guidance of basic methods so that i can manipulate the methods into my own methods.

i will keep trying and work hard until i earn money from online. but i cant even start because i dont know where and how to even start from. i understand your advice and would like to say thank you. so should i make instagram account with my own niche and make it big?

Here man I made it really simple. There is no magical push button solution. I hope it helps :)
Pick something simple like selling designs or posting links on social media.

When you need money:
1. start today, pick only one method
2. keep at this method for at least a month, unless it sucks, then pick a new one, repeat
3. do this method for more money and faster

Don't worry about the fourth step until you've have been online for a few months.

When you are making money:
4. hire other people
5. making own sites + practice buying content and links for SEO traffic
  • It doesn't matter what method you pick. Just start with a simple one and modify it until it works for you. Be as simple and direct as possible. Don't get intimidated. Making money is not meant to be easy.
  • Start making by a single sale. Then find out how to do it again. Next do it faster. Hire another person to do it.
  • Live exactly how you are now. Keep reinvesting the money. Only then try to do something more challenging. Use the cashflow to back you up.
thank you so much for your advice Mr MakeGreenM8. but i have a few questions.
1.what do you mean by selling designs? do you mean pictures like cars, nude, etc?
2. you said posting links on social media, but i dont know what links you are talking about. what is a link?
3. making own sites means not instagram or other sns but like www.myownwebsites.com ? like my own websites?
4. you mentioned practice buying content means i should buy something. what is "content"?
5. i should have SEO traffic so i need links right? but where and how can i buy links for SEO traffic?

thanks so much...

Examples of people who are already making money that way

i understand making money online requires a lot of energy, effort and time. is it okay for me to ask you where and how did you start your online business from the beginning?
I started by writing on a .blogspot.com domain about anything I felt like writing about. It was easier to get Adsense approved back then. They basically accepted everyone. After months of not making money, I started learning about keyword research and that was when things started to pick up. I started seeing pennies and nickels roll in every few days and I made an important realization. Most people would have given up but I realized that I will be earning these pennies and nickels indefinitely. All I need to do is scale this like crazy.

So, I started scaling (writing way more content constantly). The money grew, but not the way I had hoped. That's when I realized that finding keywords people were searching for wasn't enough. You needed to find keywords that people were searching for, but I could also rank for (low competition). I then spent the money I had earned to get some tools to help me out with all of this. Your time is your most valuable asset. Once you have enough money to cover what you need to cover, use some of the leftover for savings and the other money to buy good tools and hire help.

I went through a natural learning process which allowed me to grow. That's the problem with using "systems" and "methods." Often, they let you skip the learning part which is what teaches you why something works. More dangerously, they give you something to blame other than yourself which is actually very demotivating. It makes online marketing look like voodoo that only runs on luck and when you fail "it just wasn't meant to be." Don't take shortcuts. Learn this business and grow with it (it's always changing). Don't believe what someone on this forum says. Test it for yourself.

But my best advice is to get yourself stable first, especially if you have people depending on you like spouse or kids. If you're single, then by all means, do whatever you want, dive in as deep as you want and come out on top. If I were single with no kids and I started out again, I would have moved into a storage unit or lived in my car and thrown every penny I had at learning and scaling. I just found internet marketing a few years too late to do things that way. And in all fairness, I probably wouldn't have the family I have right now, which makes my long journey worth it.

Get into a niche which you love, for example, you love cars. Make a website about cars. Monetize it and scale it up.

Some advices really suck, like above one

let me tell you one thing, that is the best advice anyone can get. if you go after the niche you love, you don't need to spend big bucks on contents, everything gets easier.
All you gotta do to earn online is write ;) , but how much you earn depends totally on what you write.
conclusion : you can write better about things you love

I typed up a long ass response that verged on being a life story. It was probably just going to feel good to me. So I'll spare you the dramatics lol and cut it down.

1. Sell infographics or logos, look at what is being bought. ASK YOURSELF: How can I do it slightly differently or faster...? Check out fiverr, konker, upwork, textbroker, etc. Use google and the search bar on here because there are some amazing guides that work if you tweak them. Eventually you'll see new angles yourself. Focus on one thing. Then be fancy. Repeat after me, focus on one basic thing, then be fancy.

2. Check out the methods for posting links in social networking. It is already covered more eloquently than I can in a single reply.
3. Yes, you can make a site you put articles that highlight the benefits of buying a type of product.

4. Content is a piece of writing, or some graphic like a picture or infographic. It is something that takes time and creativity which gives it value. Once you have money to risk, you can try out freelancers to do work for you. You can use it for your own sites and/or resell in online marketplaces too if you want. Reselling services can be a big business in itself.

5. Worry about buying links after you study onpage SEO and basic link outreach. Look into @t0mmy, @meathead1234, and @Nargil and other experienced members on this site because they have written in depth posts covering almost everything there is to cover for SEO

- Don't buy anything that seems too good to be true because YOU are the perfect target as a new marketer.
- Get a day job to have money to risk so you can grow faster. This let me take bigger risks with sites and freelancers.
- Read posts but not all day

- Read posts but not all day

@MakeGreenM8 's post above is great, but this might be one of the best takeaways from it. One of the hardest steps is to start doing. It's easy to read and say "I'm not ready yet, but I will be soon!" There is a great Chinese proverb:

the-best-time-to-plant-a-tree-was-20-years-ago-the-second-best-time-is-now.jpg

Get yourself stable. Then start doing.

Well that is a much better start than your first post so that makes it a bit different.
I find a part time job is absolutely the best starting point because it gives you some money to invest while also giving you enough free time, so stick with that set up for a little while.

With making money it is best to play somewhat to your strengths for instance I am pretty good at computer networking and technical stuff, so I took a route that involved those things like in the making websites kind of area.

You could look back over:

https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/the-ultimate-blackhatworld-thread-repository.915304/

And just glance at all the areas of making money quickly then when you get a bit of an idea of them stick with the one you feel most applies to you.

Because the truth is I know people who make a killing from programming their own stuff, I know another who banks big from web stuff, I know another who gets fat stacks from selling tea and drop shipping.
There is so many broad avenues you need to first narrow down the one that resonates most with you, narrow it down by your interests skills, what appeals to you and you find the easiest or least difficult, then stick to it like glue and really read up on that topic.

Once you got that you can start to find out new things and ask questions exactly about specific difficulties within that way of making money.

Good luck dude!
