Hello everyone,

So I just got offered , for 150pounds , a ready to go website.
Basically it's made and I just have to put my details in,like my PayPal account,etc.
Looks like it has the social networks accounts ready and articles have been wrote down already, it looks it really is ready to go and moke some money, as I don't really expect to make a lot for now. Just want to make a steady income and be able to work on the website and make a bit more with time.

What do you guys think?
Just a question from a guy that does not know a lot about this kind of stuff.

Nothing is ever that simple.

The website part is the easy bit, how are you going to get traffic to your site? That's the hard part.

Websites are sold in the marketplace here from $30 to $500+
Once you buy them you still have to get visitors. That's where the money is.

I think that you are too new in the industry from your posts to know if you have a proper email or just a marketing email looking to sell a site.

I would not buy a site from some random email myself; I'd need to know the seller on some level, see the history of the site, look at the revenue it was generating and see how it was being monetized before making a decision.

On the other hand it is not a lot of money so you really can't expect much in terms of revenue as it would be something that would need to have potential.
 
If you were in the street, and someone told you to buy a safe, which has a lot of money in it, all you have to is pay 150 pound for it. What will you do?

Well, a website getting steady income is way more valuable than the safe. If the website can make even 30 pounds/month the owner can make the amount he asking for in 5 months and keep the profit for himself.

He could put it in auction and sell it from 12x - 20x its monthly earning instead of mailing people.

A website worth nothing if its not making any money
 
What exactly are they offering? Is it just a pre built site with some social network pages or is it supposed to be getting traffic at the moment? (Doubtful for $150)

If it is just a pre built site then you could either buy one from an established seller here for about the same or less and receive the support that you would expect from a seller on this site, or you could learn to build your own. It's not that difficult and plenty of help from this forum.

What type of site is it as well? Dropshipping? Blog? MNS? This also will help to determine the value of the site you are being offered.

Has the seller done keyword research? Are the keywords quality? (ie. decent amount of searches, high CPC, high product value if review site?)

I would most certainly hold off until you know a bit more about it because you obviously don't know much about what you are buying, I mean no disrespect by saying that but you are obviously not highly experienced at these things otherwise you would not be asking here.

When I first attempted internet marketing I was duped into buying a package deal, a supposedly ready to go dropshipping site with all the products already added and all I had to do was find customers.

Turned out that finding the customers was the hardest part, I quickly learned how easy it was to fill a site with products and where to find those products, I also discovered that they were middle men who were selling websites but didn't hold any of the stock. They simply waited for orders to come in and then order them from the companies who offered the dropshipping. Each stage had a profit markup making my prices ridiculously expensive.

I'm sure some of the older members on here know exactly which company I am referring to.

No traffic yet. Just the website ready and social networks accounts. I would buy something like this but from the right person .

OK well decide what type of website you would like to promote. Do you want a blog which will rely on adverts to generate income? An ecommerce site which sells physical products? A review site which leads people to buy products from another site to obtain affiliate commissions?

There are dozens of different types of sites and hundreds of ways to earn money from them. Once you know which method you will be comfortable with then you can make an informed decision instead of jumping in blindly. You will save yourself time & money that way.

As BTB said above, have a look round the marketplace, also look in the IM JOURNEYS section so you can see what peope do to promote their sites. Do lots of reading before you jump in.

On the Internet a lot of people will try to sell you products, and you have to be careful how you spend your money. So it depends (1) on your budget, is £150 a lot, for most people it is quite a lot; and (2) what does the price include, how many words of content, how unique is the design, etc; is it worth the price?

And do not expect the site to make money by itself, it is a lot of work to get traffic to a site and to monetize the traffic; so study first, spend later.
