Hello,

Thanks in advance for your help. I am gearing up to throw a show and looking to get feedback on my Facebook targeted audience research and targeting throughout for my Facebook AD:

Event:

- 21+
- Venue Hold 1,600
- Artist Young M.A (Hip-Hop)
- Tickets: Early Bird $30 (increases $10 every week) VIP $45

Benefits Of Event:

- Tickets are super affordable for the region I live in.

Cons of Event:

- There is no "interested" in the Facebook Targeting for the artist or venue I will be hosting the show at.
- About 20 -25 miles away from the main city where events occur.

General Strategy:

- Drive Traffic to Event Page Through Free Ticket Giveaways/ Promotion
- Re-target the users who visit the Event Page Different Placements, and script.

Specific Targeting:
(Additional Interest)

- HipHop Radio Stations In the Region
- Live Event Venues in the Region
- Live Nation
- Live Music

I also narrowed the interest further for things people MUST be interested in to:

- Concerts
- Live Events

I also narrowed the interest further for things people MUST be interested in to:

- HipHop
- HipHop Music
- Rapping
- Gansta Rap

Content:

- Using Young M.A Music Video (For interactive content and to advertise)
- Personal Flyers
- Flyers with music included (For Swipe Up Story's)
- Using Young M.A Music Video (Swipe Up Story)

Ad Script for Feeds:

Join Us ! 11/9 catch Young M.A live at x- nightclub for a night full of good music, drinks, and vibes!

Limited VIP Private Lounge Tickets Available.

Ouuuuu! (one of her signature adlibs) Young M.A is coming out to show Delware love this 11/9- be sure to purchase your Early Bird Tickets & Limited VIP Passes now!

Questions:

- Would Instagram Stories be my best bet for selling tickets? If not what would you suggest the best placement be?
- Is my targeting to defined to start?
- How soon should I re-target users that have interacted with the Event Landing Page ( I was saying every 4 -5 days ) another cycle for people to get paid.
- Since I cant use Young M.A, would it be useful to target artist in her same genre/lane of rap music, or just keep it as "Gansta Rap" or general "Rap" Targeting.
- I notice alot of sponsored events use flyers with music for their story sponsored ADs, would this be a case where photos would triumph video? Is this because they dont want users to be to engaged with the video content that they dont Swipe Up?

Hard tell from my perspective. I know young M.A she is talented. Instagram Stories is definitely a good way to promote her event. Look for local artist in Delaware and ask for shoutouts.
Do you already target local Hip-Hip Clubs?
As she is more gangsta rap, I would also try to target some local Strip Clubs;)

In general try to find out where are the hang out spots in Delaware.

Can you incentivize the sale of the tickets? If so, give the first 100 people xyz. Clubs do it here in Miami all the time.

Okay I agree. The thing is that most of the Strip Clubs do not have enough traffic to appear in the interest section. Is there a work around to this?

This is a good idea - we could probably work out something with the artist/ venue.

Re-target straight away! Running retargeting campign in facebook is very cheap practice You might also want to check adroll.com for more retargeting(outside of facebook, mostly native, but using facebook's initial campaign cookies). If people see your ads everywhere, they think that this show must be good as your promotion budget is huge when you can afford promoting everywhere.

Obviously to not stick with just one campaign, I would run all of your interest separately.

No point of doing higher budget with all of those additional and main interests! Do segments, I would even go as far as separating these to different campaigns:
- HipHop
- HipHop Music
- Rapping
- Gansta Rap
Just these + About 20 -25 miles away from the main city where events occur.

From quick calculations, to properly launch this, you should have at least 30 different campaigns with different targetings.

Also, I suggest you to look into facebook pixel and conversion campaign. Make your pixel to fire when someone buys ticket. Therefore, you can see which campaign will get most buys and just bump budget there.

Thanks for the help! Heres my confusion with the conversion campaign. I am using "Viewed Event Listing" Look A like audience which excludes people who have visited the buying page, didnt want to re-target people who already purchased. So if I choose "views content" at the top for the Facebook conversion method, is Facebook showing the ad EXACTLY to the people who viewed content, or just people that look like them, or both? If it shows it to people that look like them, wouldn't this be the same as a look a like audience? Also - should I stop running traffic campaign or scale down when I start my conversion campaigns since I am using the same look-alike audience for traffic too?

I have 2,000 page view conversions and about 50 tickets sale conversions. Do I have enough data to run conversion campaigns for both page views and purchases?
