I travel pretty often so I can't have physical access to the device in a single country but I'm looking to set up a half dozen mobile proxies either on phones or a couple of Rasberry Pi's.
My problem is going to be getting them to rotate onto a different IP remotely.
I can flash and setup Squid on a Rasberry Pi, I'm sure I can setup an updating DNS so I point it to proxy1.seomadhatter.fakedomain so reconnecting shouldn't be an issue but I'm not sure about getting it to connect through the SIM card. The easiest option seems to be a WiFi hotspot but I don't see a way of getting it to reconnect remotely.
I figure if I use a GSM board and connect the SIM directly with the Pi I can just send a reboot command through SSH or something and have it reconnect and update the DNS with the new IP.
Does anyone have any experience hooking something like this up? Would appreciate a pointer.
