Has anyone ranked using only links from own PBN? I've tried, but my sites just keep bombing out from the 5th page. Is this because I am using only 1 link type? Or could it be on page factor? Does anyone have any suggestions as to what type of links I could use as well as a PBN?

I'm analyzing a certain niche for the past month and I found an affiliate website dominating whole niche (2$-4$ CPC) with nothing but 100 backlinks from PBN, 90% of those links are from WP platform, all contextual links and none of them comes from niche related site.

Page authority 25 on average, very diversified anchors. That site is ranking at top 10 for 20 terms with 5k+ monthly searches and for about 5 of them with 15k-50k monthly searches. I doubt it's churn and burn because content is very quality.

You need to increase the number to rank better for comp terms. Link from a high PR page is still dope.

So do you think they have hidden links? Or some kind of social signal maybe?

Yes you can most definitely rank using a PBN alone but your success (or rather your failure) could be down to the quality of your network sites, the level of competition for your chosen keyword or simply that you haven't built a big enough PBN for it.

We've been building a network of about 100 sites. Thinking of doing a testcase on BHW using a parasite.

Yes, of course.depends on the competition, and depends on the quality of the pbn links

A small number of relevant 'Niche Specific' Blogs is better than a load of generic PBN links!!

Im starting to do mini blog networks that are highly targeted rather than 1 big random network!!!

Interesting you say that as I've found the exact opposite and I've tested both.

Different niches show different results from stuff, this is well known about Google. It is also why people's advice here is always to be taken with a grain of salt.

I use a blend of homepage links and PBN all from private networks. I don't do any other link building and bank hard on all of my sites.

Remember that PBN posts will fall back in the sites archives and thus have less link juice over time going to it. Blend that with high PR links from homepages and then a regular drip feed to a PBN and you can sustain top rankings without any other SEO.

Don't over optimize either, make it look natural.

What you're really asking is 'can you rank solely with backlinks'... do you realize that's not really a question worth asking?

The fact that all the backlinks happen by chance to come from sites with a sole owner is totally and utterly irrelevant.

Let tell us more about your PBN links and we can tell you clearer what are wrong. PBN links have many types and not all providers provide exactly what they said

well, it's always good to differentiatie links, but still it IS possible to rank just using PBNs, did it twice, with success :)
