Holo BHW,
I have a website in which i have more than 3000 pages, problem is the website is ranking fine but its ranking is as follows:

Ranking for : wordno1 wordno2 wordno3
I need it to rank for : wordno1 wordno2

Some disclosures: I have my title in format as: wordno1 wordno2 wordno3 wordno4 wordno5
Since my title has exact sequence of first 3 words its ranking for that.I need to rank all my posts in format :wordno1 wordno2

Since i have good ranks for website and many pages i could not afford to change all titles.

Any good way to do what i intent to DO.

So you want to maintain rank only 2 keywords ? Guess i don't get the question. Anyway what kind of seo method do you follow ?
I would target tons of keywords + gray or black hat as long as you have lot of pages.

When you lookup a site like ahrefs or semrush, do you actually rank for wordno1 wordno2 in anyway?

I do see my keyword: wordno1 wordno2 ,but problem is it ranks very poorly like around 30-50th position mainly and for word1 word2 word3 i get ranks around 3-6th position

Keywords targetted are in large number what i am trying to say is the format of keyword.Rather than ranking it for series of 3 words i have to rank for only first 2 words

Are you meaning you're ranking for long tails and not just the exact keywords you want to rank for ?

It's nothing to worry about.

You could want to rank for; lawyer in New York
But you'll also possibly end up ranking for; best lawyer in New York, who is the best lawyer in New York, DUI lawyer in New York, Divorce lawyer in New York

What would help is if you build links with either exact match anchors to 1, 2, as well as contextual links to those terms.

thanks.but its not feasible to build those exact anchors for each and every page.WHat can help in this case

problem is the exact keyword has lot more searches than the long tail and this is really bothering me

Build to the page that is ranking for the keyword you want, you said it was around 30-50, what page is showing up in semrush/ahrefs when you look? Is it the homepage?
If so, then concentrate on that, and also on a few of your main traffic pages, as long as they are relevant.

How did you end up with 3k articles anyway? Are they spun?

If content and on-page is ready for your preferred keywords, I'd keep building good quality links and diversify anchor texts. These days Google wants you to optimize more for the topic (with a group of kw-s) rather than any specific single word / phrase, you can easily over-optimize it and do more harm than good.

All unique and hand written articles.Homepage is not ranking its the article pages always which rank.
