Ranking drops after linking from PBN

Always wait longer for the results to show. A week at least because in that time many coincidences can happen and you can't say that the rankings changes because of that one link.

The fact that you used the exact match keyword on a new site maybe the issue. Looks unnatural. I tend to use anchors that include the keywords, rather than just the actual keyword!!

Example: This is a great example of Keyword being used within a sentence!!

It's probably got nothing to do with the new links you built. I noticed some positive movements yesterday and just checked mozcast there and see high readings for yesterday.

It would seem unlikely that a rank decrease was a result of a link on an article page that hasn't even been indexed yet.

Lot of things to consider for rankings, as for PBNs they may cause ranking fluctuations for a while before settling for actual links.

One 500 word article on the entire site with two links pointing your money site? This doesn't sound like its a good quality PBN. Plus 24 hours isn't very long...

Sometimes, it can be that the domain is penalised. What i will do is remove it and then if the rankings go back up, i put this domain in shit list.

Change it away from exact match and do a branded keyword.

Trust me it will jump up.

The problem is you are playing local SEO like your normal large scale SEO game and the SERPS are not the same.

It got back after 5 days to its initial position. I do agree though, I made the experience as well that the best for local is to anchor your brand or (naked) url. This site was just an experiment because I thought it would be safe since it was a business in the same niche.

- Are you using Different IP's?
- Have you check your sites are foot print?
- How many posts per site?
- Is it unique or spin content?

You mentioned this was the first PBN you had built to the site.

Maybe the problem could be the SEO you have done before the PBN link. For example if you had bought links from not a great source or used automated tools on the client site.

Would be interested to know the rankings now. I hope you managed to get them back.
