Hi
We all know that Link building is a backbone of SEO. It has been become a concept that to rank any website in the search engines easily we have to do link building. I am saying that without link building we can rank our websites, but if we use this technique, we can rank our website for a long run.
Today I am going to share the three techniques which can help to rank our websites if we don?t create backlinks. These are;

  1. Internet Marketing like via social media etc
  2. Mobile marketing
  3. PPC (Pay Per Click

If you are not using link building, then try the above three techniques and rank your site.
share your technique with us to help others
Thanks

Hmm, don't think this will get you very far with ranking if you have no back links. If you just want to drive traffic then sure....

Those are methods to drive traffic to a website, not methods to rank in a search engine.

If you're going to try to rank without backlinks, you need: a lot of time, excellent on-page SEO, and low competition keywords (domain age and several other factors help as well).

While I don't entirely agree with what Davids355 said, for keywords that aren't low competition, you're better off spending the time procuring backlinks instead of circumventing a major factor.

Exactly, this was my exact thoughts too. I was thinking really hard, though the first one plays a vital role in serp increase, but others, i see no significant roles they play.

Interestingly enough, some users on here might actually argue that PPC advertising on Adwords also plays a role in increasing rankings for a site, but I've never tested this theory myself nor have I come across any evidence that backs it up.

You can rank without any backlinks whatsoever...

You just need:

A live chicken
The hair of a virgin
8 red candles
The toe nail clippings of a 100 year old woman
And a stone from Isreal

Once you've collected these PM me...

You all probably didn't catch the main thought he tried to explain.

He said WE (you) will not create backlinks, but he didn't say that the users of the traffic won't create backlinks for us. Think about it like this. Traffic comes from facebook, PPC or somewhere else. If the content is very good and provides value, then the users will definitely share the page with their friends or mention you in their blogs/websites. This is what you could say "totally white hat" and google want this sort of backlink building which is organic. But this way takes a lot of time and is impossible in high competition niches because everyone is building backlinks artifically..

If he has a masters in Journalism or Writing and knows how to milk social media and has a ton of free time then *maybe* it could work. But its not a realistic strategy and I poo poo it outright frankly due to the time required alone.

I cannot accept the OP's techniques. Its never give ranking in the search engine. Did you use this technique ?

I think these methods are just for the visibility of the site as far as the point of ranking it is almost impossible to rank a site without anchors.

I've been doing lots of SEO previously and trust me when i say it is a major time waster. If you're a patient guy who don't expect short term returns and have a lot of time to burn then by all means.
I just feel that the best is still paid traffic. By paid traffic I don't necessarily mean paid using real money (you get what i mean).

Content is king,
Write blogs for your website and start sharing.

Eventually, all those likes on social media, mobile marketing will get links in someway in the long run and again those links are your source of ranking.

I second that, my website has a 300k+ semrush traffic worth and I never built a link just focused on social media.

The methods you mention can bring in more traffic to your websites but won't help you rank (on google).

I have to say that I experimented with this in the dating niche. I created a good looking site and filled with over 6 months with high quality articles written by me. I never built a single link, simply tweeted each new post and auto-followed the followers of a few big dating sites.

After 6 months the site was pulling 2-500 visitors a day, purely from a bit of auto-social and good longtail content with strong internal linking.

Then I spent 6 months building the odd high quality link, such as good quality, nurtured and drip-fed web 2.0's backed up by links to them. The rankings barely shifted.

So content can rank on it's own, but to take that jump to the big league you will need a lot of strong links in competitive niches.

Nice try, Matt Cutts.

Ranking without backlinks can be done but it takes quite a bit of keyword research. Besides having quality content you also need low title competition keywords. If you want to find these keywords you'll be hitting a lot of captchas using tools like Long Tail Pro so I recommend picking up a quality proxy pack, takes a while but worth the extra time in my opinion. Besides the low title comp keywords and quality content, it's also important to make your article page look attractive, add some nice images throughout, etc...

The search volume on the keywords may not be all the big but all the little ones eventually add up :) Makes more sense to me to put your money into quality content and keyword research instead of SEO, gives you not only a better quality site but no need to worry about getting hit with SEO penalities!
