Hello I need to rank for more keywords in my articles
I rank mostly only for 1 keyword and its the topic of article I write
I saw here people have like 200 articles and rank for 1k words
How is it possible ?
Thanks

Yes, Whatever you heard is right and possible, and for that, you need solid content and a proper backlink strategy. If you want to rank for more keywords than your targeted one in that case your copy needs to be in-depth and insightful. It should cover every detail possible. I have seen 300-500 word articles rank for thousands of keywords. You also should show your authority on that specific content as well.

So whats best thing to do ?
If I wanna rank for some other keywords too should I put the keywords in h2 or h3 ?
I have in-depth content with 1000 words but I only rank for main keyword

you need to include more related terms in your content. Plug your content into tools like Frase or Surfer and follow their recommendations...

Also, how are you checking your rankings? Just curious :)

Will do
I check them mostly manually because I dont pay any position tracking or something like this
I will google the keyword, browse few sites and look for my site if there is anywhere

I kind of suspected this to be the case, that's why I asked :p

When you check manually (I'm also assuming that you're logged into your google account when you check) google takes your search history and preferences into account, they're not showing you the "real" rankings but rather personalized results.

If you wish to check the real rankings log out of your google account and use an incognito (private) window. Better yet, use a VPN... or, even better, use a dedicated rank tracking service / tool. I know that these tools cost money but you're paying for real data instead of what google wants to show you :)

Target more long-tail keywords.

Make sure your articles are interlinked nicely.

Get better backlinks.

You should start seeing more keywords per article.

Working on interlinking
I wanna buy PBN backlinks, will it make a difference in my ranking for more keywords per article ?
Thx

oh yeah, different languages is a thing, I totally forgot about it as I've only targeted the English speaking markets :p

Sorry, I don't know which tools exist in other languages, but you can do a google search for "content optimization tool" and check their features.

Google automatically ranks your pages for all the related keywords and topics it is targeting. You don't need to make that happen, Google does it all by itself.

Unless you don't do keywords research. Every keyword has related keywords and topics which people use in searching for answers. Everyone doesn't ask the same question exactly the same way.

More detailed content with Multiple sections that could answer every possible query for a user who is searching for that term + A bunch of good-quality links
As someone mentioned above use some ranking software at least for a trial period to have a handful of data to work on.

Make analysis to your competitors and pick keywords based on search volume that includes more long tail anchors and try to diversify them using some generic anchors too while building links..

Increasing your rankings for various keywords across multiple articles is a common objective to enhance SEO.
Here are some basic tips to focus like:

Comprehensive Content

Keyword Research

Long-Tail Keywords

Backlink Strategy

Internal Links

etc..

Usually, you can't really optimize an article for more than main 5-6 keywords at most, unless you have a very long article with 4-8k+ words,
And if you want to rank for as many keywords, you have to either:
  • Get more authority so your website will come up to more variations of these links,
This will need you to work in better on-page and most importantly invest in building more links
  • Or you can build more articles targeting more long tail keywords
Ultimately, you'll need a combination of both without making any spammy articles,
Take for example that you want to rank for "apples", which is included in your article about "fruits",

While an authority website will rank for "apples" while including a paragraph/section about it in their article,
You'll have less chance with a new website,

On the other hand, if you build articles about "apples", "oranges", "bananas",
You'll have a better chance to rank for these keywords with these articles than an authority website targeting "fruits",

You'll need less links and you can gain more topical authority about it,
Make sure to implement proper internal links between all of these posts as well

mostly because of KD, cant do much if your site dont have much power and authority

The KD isn't that crazy on those keywords. I now found out that I actually rank with 1 article for more keyword but Im on page 2 and more. I have DA 51 and old domain so I guess the problem here could be backlinks ?
