Hello all! I've been gone for awhile but it's back as I have some newfound motivation to start my IM journey once again. A short background about me is that I'm a full time student, work as a server part-time, and do food delivery once or twice a week.

Fun fact is that I started IM when I was 16 and I was making decent money, but I didn't have access to capital, bank accounts, etc. That's when I decided to drop everything, focus on school, and work irl jobs. After working for a year and half, I have a lot more cash flow to throw around, credit cards, and more motivation. I recently lost a bidding war on a house I wanted to buy that was a steal, and this gave me motivation to earn more money so that I can be the one outbidding everyone else. I unfortunately wasn't able to be a home-owner at the age of 19, but my goal is to do well enough on this site that I'm able to afford one before I turn 20 in August.

Project -
I've been lurking around BHW a couple days a week, staying on top of what's poppin and it seems that quiz sites has caught my interest. While my background in IM is mostly dropshipping and Amazon Affiliate sites (currently working on one right now - but taking awhile as I'm writing all the content + finals are this month), I don't really have a background in quiz sites, which I believe is more in the social media/ viral content industry.

That's why I'm planning to combine dropshipping + quiz sites, as I saw a member on here have really good numbers with this method. Not sure what the user was but hopefully you'll see this post and give me your thoughts!

It's basically, have users take a quiz, and give them a prize which is (free + shipping) at the end of the quiz. I'll be testing out different methods of prizes, with offering free shipping instead of paid, free + shipping, etc.

I'll mainly be using Reddit as my traffic source, and it worked very well in the past even though I was blatantly promoting free + shipping. Hopefully, with the hidden "free+shipping" under the quiz, this site will be easier to promote on FB ads and reddit compared to promoting blatantly.

I really want this site to work, since I'll be able to apply to some AMEX business cards and hopefully get a shit ton of travel rewards for me to travel while working on the site. However, that is the end goal and I'll just be focusing on finding the right audience and right products for now.

To-do
Today is the first day I'm starting the project and I have to set-up everything. I'm figuring out a domain name, got hosting already (namecheap - Black Friday deal), planning to use Wordpress for the quiz plugins and to save as much money as possible, and possibly buy a couple Reddit accounts + proxies for my Reddit posting that I used to do in the past. I used to use Blazing SEO proxies, but not sure if they still offer them, so will be searching around for dedicated proxies. If anyone has suggestions for dedicated proxies for SM accounts as well as Reddit account sellers, please do recommend them.

Once I have the site setup, I'll have to add a couple products to make the site look nice and tidy, make a nice logo, and create a couple quizzes. I'll be using the same niche that I used before that made me decent money, so I already have some knowledge in this niche and what products sell well.

My site is niche-specific, but in this genre, there's a lot of other niches I can exploit, so this site is sort of a test site.

Costs
Domain: $9 (namecheap)
Hosting: already have
Reddit acc/Proxies: budget around $40ish? Firefox profiles worked well for me in the past to manage these.
Facedbook Ads: I'm planning to set aside possibly $200-$300 as I earn this in maybe a week from my IRL server job. It won't hurt my pocket too much, so I'm okay with losing this + more if necessary.

Plans
My initial plan is to make enough sales from Reddit free traffic alone to help fund FB Ads. Reddit is a great traffic source but it's a lot of work, and I'd rather let FB Ads optimize and make sales on its own. Hopefully I'll find the winning ad without spending too much.

Goals

My goal is around $150/day to begin with. It'll be a good starting point and as a full time student and working full time, this is enough for me but more is always better. Wish me luck on this journey! I'll try to keep the thread updated daily.

Quick update, I just checked Blazing SEO proxies and it seems 5 dedicated IPV4 proxies are $6 monthly. I'll give this a go. Hopefully by today, I'll have found a Reddit account seller, chose a domain name, find the theme I want, make a logo, and install the plugins I need.

Best of luck with your journey. If I can be any assistance just ask (I think it was my journey you referenced).

As a little encouragement I have had 4 people say they have started to get sales after following my journey. With your background I am sure you will smash it.

Alright, got the store up and running yesterday and got the theme and Woocommerce all setup. Going to be installing the quiz plugin today and create a couple quizzes, but keeping it light today as I have 6 hours of classes today with exams coming up.

@GangsterWilly hooked me up with a free review copy of his proxy and I got a free sample copy for a Reddit account from @Vagr. This is a good starting point to test out my method of Reddit posting and hopefully it works as it had done in the past. I remember in the past when I used to do Dropshipping + Reddit, I had 25 different profiles setup on Firefox with each one being a different dedicated proxy for one Reddit account. Will be using the same method.

Good luck!
Seems like a interesting journey.

You should definitely take a look at this thread, could help you alot.

I'll definitely try using Gif's for my site for one of my ads. I'll have to play around and see what kind of ad will convert the best and it's always nice to have multiple options. Thanks for the share.

Yes! I just checked out your posts and it is indeed your thread that got me interested in this method. Although Adsense + Quiz does seem more manageable and less work, I think the profitability of dropshipping & quiz incentives is a good spin off for more profit. Great idea!

Thanks that was a 3.00 o'clock in the morning brainwave.

Couple of suggestions don't hide the fact they pay s&h put it at the start and make the checkout process as slick and easy as you can.

What you want to avoid is putting them into buyer mode. It should be "I won it I want it".

Offer an upsell

Let them brag to their friends.

Really best of luck.

Just scratching your brains a bit, with Facebook, have you tried =
- Facebook engagement quiz (personality test) that people could share to see what their friends would get + add a "thanks for playing, here's a prize for participating" sort of thing. If it's the right niche with the right audience, the post would get tons of engagement (seen my friends on FB engage on these a lot personally), which would mean more potential for the customer to see the offer for the "free" item or prize. Of course, this method won't have the same amount of incentive of "I wont it I want it" mode that you were talking about, but it'll get more eyes on it for sure. What do you think about it?

EDIT: Just thought of this. I feel like if there was a "Share with your friends to get a free "prize" etc" offer, it would help with engagement and it would get them into the "I won it I want it" mentality since they would want something back in return for sharing that they would've done anyway.

I encourage sharing after the win with a look what I have won post.

Then in the post sale engagement routine I also encourage sharing both in the pack they receive and also in the emails.

One thing I encourage is selfies with the product and use of specific hashtags. Check out Ezra Firestone I have pretty much ripped his post sale engagement.

Update: I did finish the site and used Reddit and FB, but wasn't able to convert sales. As I don't have experience making a store using Wordpress, it's a bit hard to try and get it to look legit. I might try creating a separate store for sales, and convert that site into a quiz only website. So that I can do Reddit/FB -> Quiz Site -> Store. As I have more experience creating higher converting stores on Shopify, I might be able to drive more sales this way.

Interesting that you combine both these methods. You'll need a bit of customization if you're using Wordpress. Best of luck.
