Quitting Gaming!!

Hi guys! I know I will regret it! But today I decided to quit gaming and get a real life!
I've been playing Dota1/Dota2 for 2.5 years now, and I keep playing it around 14 hours a day without breaks >.< I've always been addicted to video games since I was a kid, I quit one game, and go to another -_-.
I've tried quitting Dota a lot of times, but eventually I get back to it because I really miss it and I'm a pro gamer lol.
5 minutes ago I deleted Dota completely from my PC+Steam.. But I really got not idea what will happen next, how will I pass my time :(
I feel like a 10 years old talking, but good thing that nobody from real life knows me here ^_^

It would be awesome if you guys can suggest me what I can do to pass the time. I have 2 religious friends, so meeting girls is not an option... unless I go to parties alone, which sucks. (and I don't have the balls and I'm socially awkward :D) ><

Thanks! And also suggest me what to do to stop thinking about Dota (the game)!!!

When I'm in college, I keep thinking about the game, and I look at the clock and say "Oh yes! 50 more minutes and I'm going home to pwn some noobs! HECK YEAH!"

-Fadi the poor nerd.
Take your life as a game......
level up my friend.... instead of gold earn real money
like the way u make inventory and charachters in dota... make them in real life...and bank!

Dude u play dota nd ur a pro this means you are very much intelligent(really not joking) as this is very very tough game to master, requires holy skills, holy brain and total control over urself.
Now what can you do for TP?
Write your own dota guides(u said ur a pro),belive me it will be bought by thousands of noobs and you know the quantity of noobs in dota, who want to master this game.
Can't write much now coz iam doing this from my mobile, just shoot me a pm regarding this and i will definitely help you...
Did i tell u that even i am a dota player(not a pro now a days i left it months ago and landed here, very tough decision though ,you know how much it is).

I have always been a fan of strategy game. It helps me to spend my time and relax. I don't try new games often though. But old ones does the job. I spent hours and hours before my PC with games. No one really told me to give up. But the flow of time I don't know how, I lost interest. But I still play sometimes.
The fact is, I lost interest because I got busy with people and life. And I had very little time to sit for games. I, now do IM on my PC, so I have a very little time for games again.
You can utilize your time with other stuffs. You will not regret giving up the games.

Get outside and engage life. Find a new hobby or sport that involves others. You will meet new people and go to events.

The reason you don't have the balls to talk to women and are socially awkward is because you haven't used those skills to improve them.

I just quit. Never been pulled too deep into gaming though. But when I feel like playing, I spend 16 hours a day. That was like once every two years. :p

By the title of ur post I thought u meant quitting gaming Google ;). Seems Panda and Penguin are playing lot on my mind lately lol. Anyway someone writtely said. Create a dot com and start building ur bank balance.

You just have to find a way to monetize your hobby. There's a lot of money in gaming.

I use to be a hardcore gamer. I am still a casual one. But I made my passion into my job. You can too.

I'm not sure what the bot market is for a game like that but if you're a decent programmer, you could write a bot and sell it.

If you're a pro gamer just get a sponsorship deal and do esports. win win

Modern Warfare 3 and Black Ops for life.

But only spend about an hour a day playing it. 14 hours.. that's crazy.

Black ops all the way.

woop woop!

Fadi946 character skills:

Dota skill level: lvl 5000
Socialising skills: lvl 3
Money making knowledge skills: lvl 80

:D

On a more serious note...

Do something with the knowledge you have now and make some money. As in by the end of this week you should have at least made $15.

BTW, maybe it is because you don't know how to begin your IM journey and so you resort to playing games because it is easier. (you subconsciously tell yourself this)

Your problem is procrastination.

If you love success and you are willing to limit the amount you play (not get rid of completely) then you can have it both.

Just learn how to organize your time.

Time is a precious thing it is like a stubborn ex gf once it goes you can never get it back.

Just think about the awesome home theatre setups and the epic PC builds you'll have when you make all that money. Now that you are fully engaged in making money, you'll now be able to afford the things you no longer want/need.

Fortunately, I have too short of an attention span to get hooked on games. I have a ps3 and 360 but never play a game for more than a few days before getting bored. I tried getting into WoW a couple of times but it seemed too redundant to me.

I have the same problem working on my projects, if I don't finish a website in a couple of days I never end up finishing it.

Cheers!

What wrong with playing games? I always play 4-5 hours per day on my xbox360 and ps3 and still manage to manage my time and life.. your only need is time management..

Well I was an addict and played at least 15 hours a day! I played xbox live halo 2 and halo 3. The game was my entire life I even droped out of school when I was 14 I was so addicted. I was in GTy and our clan was number one in the world when they had leader boards. Even went to mlg and tournaments and won good money for playing video games.

The only good thing about it was enjoyment, making some money playing games, and passing the time.....man did time fly.

But I had absolutely no life at all and the game was running my vision. My dad is very wealthy im surpised he let me drop out of school at such a young age he lied and told the school I was being home schooled he told me that he cant live my life for me and when he is gone im going to do what I want. He punished me by literally doing nothing for me and treated my sister when she didnt even live with us because my parents are divorced with highly luxurious gifts to try to motivate me although he didn't just give stuff outright he rewarded and set goals.

Untill 1 day I matured and worried about my future wondering what I was going to do because my dad was clear about not helping me if I didnt change my ways. Also saw the life of wealth and luxury and wanted to make my own.

I started getting what money I could and started investing.

On rare occasions I look back and think about video games because of how fun and good I was. I realize how much I have accomplished from not playing it anymore and turn away from it everytime.

Something else took my interest; they calll it G00gle, SEO and making money online. I still can't believe I'm how I just completely lost my interest in gaming! Online marketing completely took the place it once had in my heart!

@KiraJX just cracked me up...lol!

My advice to you is give away all of your gaming stuff to non-friends....like to guys on BHW or people that you rarely meet and talk so that they don't influence you back into the gaming life again.

Secondly, you need to find a "social" hobby outside computers.....like coaching neighborhood kids how to play basket ball, soccer, baseball etc. just something that helps you connect with people like volunteering to serve food at the nearby homeless shelter everday or three times a week.

Good luck!
