Quitting Gaming!!

If you were so strongly addicted to dota...then perhaps you can hone your addiction elsewhere. Learn and master a skill that you can monetize :)

Then you can pick up chicks..move out of your parents..and not be poor ;)

No need to quit, I myself am a gamer (COD fan), I have all CODs but I play just the latest always, and not a lot. I don't like gaming a lot, just play Call of Duty sometimes ... not a lot, just "normal" amount.
I was addicted to a game before (but didnt play it 14 hr daily)... I just uninstalled it completely, and didn't think about it, works good, when you think of the game, Just change your thoughts.

How old are you?

For me I used to spend a lot of time playing games but when I was about 19 I realised I was wasting my life and grew out of it. Whenever I try and play games now I just get bored and also frustrated because I know I could be doing better things like working, socialising or hobbies.

You should definitely go travelling, save some money and just leave. It will change your whole outlook on life.

Oh and go to the gym as well, nothing like a good workout to motivate you mentally.

Get a better PC, get better at Dota 2 and make some money of Youtube. It is getting really popular, i can see a big future for it. You could do what you like while you make money ;)! Who cares that you play games, it is a solid way of making money these days.
You will be getting more money in 6 months that the "real-life-heroes" ever will. E-Sports is the future.
But getting more friends and working out is good also :)

@Veheme - I already did it more than 5 times.. but that's why I find another game and get addicted all over again :D I played Maple Story and much more online games.. But Dota is not an online game.. but something like that.

@Dog-Tag - i tried making cash off of Dota, facebook page, website and stuff.But I'm not really professional with websites and ranking and promoting, so it didn't go so well ><

@monk13 - What I said to Dog-Tag :D

@KiraJX - haha I'm thinking about giving it to my friend................ BUT I HAVE A STRONG FEELING THAT I WILL GET BACK TO IT! :D I hope not though.

@Gramalo - I hate that game >.<

@Laurus - I know, but I'm so pro that I always think I will get to tournaments and some pro gaming and get known.. that's another reason why I'm addicted.. Maybe I have a future on gaming ^_^ But still.. if I play 1 game.. I will play all day long.

@ExtraHand- Maple Story FTW :D

@Pirondi - Thanks, I will send you an email when I get back home, I'm in my journey to my new life. It sounds interesting.

@HateAndBreak - I'm a pro pianist ^_^

@Ferma231 - I can sell my account for around 30$.. This game is not out yet, its just a Beta.. finding an account is hard.. so if I sell it, I will never ever play it against until they release it.. And no, I'm not planning to do it yet.

@john_xx - You're right, but if I get to tournaments and stuff (Which is hard) it may change my life as well.. But its a 1% chance because there are a lot of players.. I'm one of the best though ^_^

Will answer the rest later, i g2g!

Modern Warfare 3 and Black Ops for life.

But only spend about an hour a day playing it. 14 hours.. that's crazy.

Well, good luck bro. I'm not addicted but sometimes games get into my way. Especially when I get frustrated with works.

I used to play DOTA but didn't play a single time in last 4 months, 9 years online experience though .

Most Favorite room : Pakistan DOTA ROOM :D

Build a fansite around it and monetise it. Or start a completely new hobby that gets you out of the house like photography.

I used to play loads of mmo's but now IM is my new drug.

Never played as much as you but I used to love playing eve and could quite happily play that 4-5 hours a night each night. Used to miss playing it but don't miss it at all now and think what a waste that was.

Strangely enough I now prefer games where I can just hop on a console play for 20 minutes and then not play again for a few days/weeks.

Playing Warsow, but i don't let it going more than a reasonnable amount of time and only when i need /can afford a break.

Same as John, my addictive profile make me really cautious. I always stayed away from MMORPG.

I'd say go and get yourself some Cash and spend those 14 hours a day on IM ;)

Perhaps you can try and do something positive with your time! Like make some money from learning on BHW!:cool:

been a hardcore gamer myself few times... now i like to design games :D

write an e-book about "how to become a pro dota gamer", few promo videos and graphics and sell it with clickbank or something else.

Meeting a few girls is also a great way to kill that huge free time you just got ;)

My advice: Get into dancing - latin, tango etc. Lots of women there :)

I used to be a gamer, but then I realized I never quit.

IM is gaming.

Get youtube channel.
Upload unique videos about your gaming.
Grow your channel, upload videos daily, more videos = more traffic ,example you can give beta key giveaways for subscribing, liking, commenting or simply ask to fill some survey.
When your channel grows, you can start working with youtube adsense and profit.
You will end doing what you like and earn money.

I'm in the Gaming Niche and would like to make Partners too, either guest blogging on each other sites or link swaps.

Link Swaps I have two sites:
Site 1 - I link to you.
Site 2 - You link to me
This way our sites are not connected and we both benefit from link juice, Both my sites are very natural PR1 and PR2, I will not sell links this is partnership or swap only. PM for details or email me at [email protected]

Sorry to jump on your thread.. if you're interested you're welcome to write about games on my site, I cant pay you as i'm not making any money from it yet, but we can work together to monetise it

I used to be like you, but it was to do with World of Warcraft. I still like gaming, don't get me wrong, but I think I've grown out of 'playing it obsessively'.
I still own a lot of games that I never play, I'm into reading manga more at the moment and it's far less time-consuming.

I'm all about the MW3 & FIFA 12.

Probably the best player on BHW for both...
